On Saturday, we held a special Volunteer Appreciation Day to recognise the incredible time, effort and energy given by the volunteers and supporters who make Ballingarry Community Café what it is.
There is so much that happens behind the scenes each week: stocktaking, shopping, cleaning, food preparation, setting up and putting away tables and chairs, meal planning, menu preparation, cooking, serving and countless other jobs.
To name but a few, there’s Tony Wall, Noel Cleary and Michael Kealy, our go-to guys for all sorts of jobs, big and small, and Anita Hennebry, who looks after the design and printing of our menus each week.
Huge appreciation also goes to everyone cooking and serving delicious food, particularly through some very hot days in the kitchen recently, while welcoming an ever-growing number of customers.
Kathleen Meagher and Sr Patricia Wall, regular visitors and fantastic advocates bring guests from near and far and truly embrace the Café as a social hub, a place to meet, chat and connect.
Most importantly, thank you to every single volunteer and supporter, whether you are out front or working quietly behind the scenes. Every contribution matters.
And to our wonderful customers, thank you for giving us a reason to open our doors each week.
