of Rural & Community Development and Pobal through the Community Services Programme & DCEDIY Preschool Funding Millennium Family Resource Centre aims to:

1. To support individuals and groups within the community to bring about positive change and have a say in decisions which affect their lives.

2. To foster participation in educational/training/development programmes.

3. To make available at l

ocal level information to assist local people develop their own skills.

4. To develop a sense of friendship, co-operation and neighbourliness as we work together to overcome the barriers experienced by our own community.

5. To develop relationships and alliances with other agencies and organisations to bring about a more equal society that will empower local people to tackle local problems.

6. To foster the development of the Voluntary Board of Management and Staff, that is based on best practise and leads to a dynamic and growing organisation which can deliver services and supports to local families in an inclusive and professional manner.

7. To make use of, and support a high standard of improvement to community facilities in the Projects Target areas. In particular, to ensure that the Millennium Family Resource building is a vibrant community centre that is well managed, maintained and adheres to all health and safety requirements.

John Haren & Aurdrey Doherty from AIB recently delivered an informative talk on Cyber and Fraud Awareness to our Wednesday social group on raising awareness of scams and fraud. The talk covered common types of scams, including text message scams, phone call scams, investment scams and romance scams. Attendees were also given useful advice and practical tips on how to stay safe when shopping online, protecting personal information and recognising suspicious activity. The talk was very informative and provided valuable guidance to our Wednesday Group on how to protect themselves and their money from fraud.
