PPN Tipperary

PPN Tipperary The Public Participation Networks (PPN) is a formal way for voluntary groups to interact with the County Council and to give the Public a strong mechanism.

The Public Participation Networks (PPN) are the new way for voluntary groups to interact with the County Council and to give the Public a strong mechanism to participate in the ‘Well-being’ of their local area and the county and all its people. This is the page of the Tipperary PPN and not the County Council. The PPN’s will:

Facilitate the participation and representation of communities

in a fair, equitable and transparent manner on decision making bodies. Create a vision of ‘Well-being’ for our communities for this and future generations. Strengthen the capacity of communities and all other voluntary groups to contribute positively to the community in which they reside/participate. Provide relevant information and act as a hub around which information is distributed and received. Work in an inclusive, respectful, transparent and collaborative manner. Gather feedback and input into policies and plans being developed by local authorities, reflecting both areas of disagreement and, where there is no consensus, the range of views. Operate in a manner that recognises that the sectors are broad and made up of people with many different opinions. Facilitate the participation and representation of communities in a fair, equitable and transparent manner through the environmental, social inclusion & voluntary sectors on decision making bodies. Strengthen the capacity of communities and of the environmental, social inclusion & voluntary groups to contribute positively to the community in which they reside/participate. Provide information relevant to the environmental, social inclusion & voluntary sector and acts as a hub around which information is distributed and received. It is not expected that the Public Participation Networks will come up with a ‘one voice response’ but that it will feed back the issues and suggestions raised by a broad range of groups. To be involved in the Public Participation Network, your group must be registered with the PPN, so please contact us at [email protected] or 052 7443407 apply for membership.
