The devil wants us to see things horizontally “I can do it on my own, I don’t need any help, there is no God.”
The devil never wants us to look Vertically to God for all our strength, wisdom, peace, love, and saving grace we need to overcome the world. Matthew 6:31-33
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

er all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. In our youth group we want to learn the word of God and study the scriptures with God’s kingdom in mind for all of life’s horizontal issues. Should I date this Boy or Girl? Vertical perspective. Should I go to this college or that one? What kind of job should I get? Should I have sex before I’m marred? Should I drink or do drugs? We want to be young men and women that look to God Vertically before we answer any of life’s horizontal questions. Definitions:
Vertical: positioned up and down rather than from side to side: going straight up
: situated at the highest point : directly overhead
Perspective: A particular attitude towards or way of regarding something; a point of view: A true understanding of the relative importance of things; a sense of proportion
