Remembering the Famine Through Art
West End Art Studios is delighted to welcome an exhibition by the Gilbert Art Group, inspired by the history and legacy of the Great Irish Famine.
Through mixed media and a rich use of imagination, the group has explored one of the darkest periods in Irish history, creating a body of work that reflects on the suffering endured by the Irish people while also highlighting the importance of keeping our heritage and history alive for future generations.
The project has had a profound effect on the members of the Gilbert Art Group, who hope that their work will encourage others to explore their own creativity, engage with Irelandโs history, and continue conversations around the experiences of those who lived through the Famine.
We are pleased to share this thoughtful and important exhibition with the local community and invite you to come and experience the work for yourselves.
