💚 What’s made you smile this week? 💚

Sometimes we get so caught up in everything that’s going on that we forget to notice the little things that make us smile.

So let’s have a positive thread today! 😊

What’s one thing that has made you smile or laugh lately?

It doesn’t have to be anything exciting or life-changing. It could be:

😂 Something funny someone said
☕ A nice coffee
🐶 Something your pet did
🎬 A funny film or TV programme
🎶 A song you’ve been enjoying
🌿 Getting outside
🤝 Spending time with someone
🏆 A little achievement
❤️ Someone checking in on you
😌 Something you’ve done for yourself
✨ Or simply having a really good day!

For me, you may have seen my recent post about my personal training sessions and Curadh Muay Thai. Without fail, they always manage to make me smile and laugh! 😂 There’s plenty of banter, and honestly, it makes such a difference.

I actually find that my training sessions go so much quicker when I’m laughing and having a bit of craic rather than constantly watching the clock! 🥊😂

It’s a good reminder that exercise doesn’t always have to feel like a chore either. Having the right people around you can make something that you might normally struggle with feel much more enjoyable.

So let’s spread a bit of positivity today. 💚

👇 What’s made YOU smile or laugh this week?

Even if you’ve had a difficult week, there might be one tiny moment worth sharing.

And if you’re comfortable, tell us what you do when you need to make yourself feel a little better.

You never know who might read your answer and discover something that could help them too. 💚

💚 HELPING HANDS & APPRECIATION 💚

Sometimes we don’t realise just how much a small act of kindness can mean to someone. A message, a helping hand, a coffee, a listening ear or simply being there can make a difficult day feel that little bit easier. ❤️

So I thought it would be lovely to create a little space where we can recognise and appreciate the people around us. 🫶

Maybe someone has supported you through a difficult time, checked in when you weren’t feeling yourself, helped you when you needed it, made you laugh when you needed it most, or simply been there without judgement.

It could also be a local person, business, organisation or service that has gone above and beyond and deserves a little recognition. 🌿

✨ Who would you like to appreciate today?
Tell us in the comments and, if you feel comfortable, share a little about why they deserve a shout-out.

You never know… your few kind words might make their day too. 💚

Let’s use our community to spread a little more kindness, encouragement and appreciation. We all have difficult days, and sometimes knowing that someone notices and appreciates us can mean more than we realise.

Tag them, thank them, celebrate them. 🥰

Because kindness costs nothing, but it can make a huge difference. 💚

💚 Hey everyone! 💚

Don’t worry, I’m still here in the background! 👋

The last few weeks have been absolutely crazy with getting ready for my two-week holiday, heading home to Scotland for a few days 🏴, and then coming straight back into work. It’s definitely taken me a little while to get back into the swing of things!

Sometimes life just gets busy, and I think it’s important to remember that being quiet doesn’t mean we’ve disappeared or stopped caring. ❤️

I’d love to get the page a little more active again and, most importantly, make sure I’m sharing things that are actually useful and interesting to you.

So I’d love your input 👇

💬 What would you like to see more of on the page?

Maybe:
🌿 Local places to visit
☕ Coffee meet-ups
🚶‍♀️ Walks & outdoor activities
🤝 Community meet-ups
💚 Support & wellbeing posts
🧠 ADHD/autism-related resources
❤️ Mental health support
📍 Local services & organisations
🎉 Local events
💡 Helpful information
🗣️ Discussion threads
📸 Member photos & recommendations
👋 Introductions & getting-to-know-you posts

Or maybe there’s something completely different you’d like to see!

You can comment below, send me a private message, or even just react to this post if you’re not comfortable commenting. Every bit of feedback helps.

And if you’re new here, welcome! 💚 This page is here to help bring people together, share useful local information, encourage conversation and hopefully help people feel a little less alone.

So don’t be shy — tell me what YOU want from the page! 👇😊

Let’s get the conversations going again. 💚

💚 Let’s get talking! 💚

I thought we’d try something a little different today rather than another information post.

Sometimes we can have lots of people in a community but still be a little quiet, so I’d love to get some conversations started and actually get to know the people behind the names. 😊

So here’s a simple question:

👇 What is one thing you’d love to do more of but just don’t seem to get around to?

It could be absolutely anything:

☕ Going for coffee
🚶 Getting out for walks
💅 Taking up a hobby again
🎨 Being creative
🐴 Spending more time with animals
🌿 Exploring new places
🎬 Going to the cinema
📚 Reading
🏋️ Getting back into exercise
🤝 Making new friends
✈️ Travelling
😌 Simply having more time for yourself

Mine would definitely be making more time for hobbies and getting out exploring. Sometimes life gets so busy that the things we enjoy are the first things to get pushed aside.

And remember, you don’t have to write a big answer. Even a sentence, emoji or quick reply is enough. 💚

You never know, someone else might have the exact same interest as you and it could be the start of a new friendship or even someone to do that activity with. 😊

So tell us below — what would you like to make more time for?

Let’s make this a place where people feel comfortable chatting, sharing ideas and getting to know one another.

💚 Let’s start a conversation! 💚

What’s something you miss doing that you once loved, but for whatever reason you ended up giving up?

Sometimes life gets busy. Work, family, relationships, money, responsibilities, changes in circumstances or simply losing confidence can mean that the things we once enjoyed slowly disappear from our lives.

It might be something you haven’t done in years, or something you stopped doing more recently.

🎨 Painting or drawing
🧶 Crafting or knitting
🍰 Baking or cooking
🎶 Playing music or singing
📚 Reading
📸 Photography
🌿 Gardening
🐴 Horse riding
🏃 Exercise or sports
☕ Going out socially
💃 Dancing
✈️ Travelling
🎮 Gaming
💅 Beauty or nails
🌱 A hobby you simply don’t have time for anymore

Mine is nails! 💅

I originally qualified in gel nails and a few other areas back in 2016, but over the years I stepped away from it and concentrated on other things.

Recently, I’ve started getting back into doing nails again. It’s something I’ve really missed, and I’m enjoying learning, practising and getting my confidence back. I’m starting slowly, practising on myself and working on improving my skills before hopefully building it back up again. 💅✨

It has reminded me that sometimes the things we loved haven’t actually disappeared—we’ve just put them on the shelf for a while.

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with starting again.

You don’t have to be as good as you once were. You don’t have to jump straight back in. You don’t even have to know where it’s going to lead.

Sometimes it’s enough to simply give something another try and see if that spark is still there. ❤️

So I’m curious…

👇 What did you used to love doing that you’ve stopped?

And more importantly…

💚 If you could bring one old hobby or activity back into your life, what would it be?

Maybe this thread can even inspire someone else to pick up something they’ve been missing.

You never know—someone else might have the same hobby and could even become a new friend or activity buddy. 🤝

Let’s hear yours! 💚

What have you given up that you’d love to start doing again?

💚 Sunday Check-In Thread 💚

How are you really doing today?

No pressure to write a long reply — even one word or an emoji is enough. 💚

Sunday can bring different feelings for everyone. Some people are relaxing and enjoying their weekend, some are working, some are preparing for the week ahead, and others might be feeling lonely, anxious, overwhelmed or simply not sure how they’re feeling.

So let’s check in with each other. 👇

💚 How are you feeling today?

😊 Good
😌 Calm
😴 Tired
😵‍💫 Overwhelmed
🧠 Brain is busy
😔 Not having the best day
🌱 Taking things one day at a time
✨ Something else?

And if you feel comfortable, tell us one thing you’re looking forward to this week, even if it’s something really small.

It could be:
☕ Getting a coffee
🚶 Going for a walk
🐶 Spending time with your pets
👨‍👩‍👧 Seeing family
💼 Getting through work
🏠 Having a quiet evening
🎬 Watching your favourite programme
🌿 Getting outside
❤️ Meeting someone
✨ Simply having a bit of time for yourself

Sometimes we don’t realise how much a little conversation can help.

You never know who might be feeling exactly the same as you today. 💚

Let’s use this thread to check in, encourage each other and remind one another that we’re Stronger Together. 💚

👇 Tell us how you’re doing today and what you’re looking forward to this week.

💚 Let’s Help Build a Local Support Directory Together 💚

One of our lovely community members recently shared information about ADHD Ireland’s support groups, which had been recommended by their therapist. It got me thinking…

There are probably so many fantastic services across Mallow, North Cork, Cork City and the surrounding areas that people simply don’t know about.

So, let’s help each other! 💚

Whether it’s for:
🧠 ADHD
🌈 Autism
💚 Mental health
🗣️ Counselling
🍽️ Eating disorders
🤝 Addiction recovery
👨‍👩‍👧 Family support
💔 Bereavement
♿ Disability services
🌱 Wellbeing
👥 Peer support groups

…we’d love to hear your recommendations.

💬 Have you used a local service that really helped you?

💬 Do you know of any support groups, charities or organisations that others might benefit from?

💬 Was there a counsellor, therapist or service that made a positive difference for you?

You don’t need to share personal details if you don’t want to. Even mentioning the name of a service, where it’s based, or whether it’s online or in person could really help someone who’s looking for support.

Likewise, if you’re looking for a particular type of support but don’t know where to start, feel free to ask in the comments. Someone in our community may have a recommendation.

The aim of this group has always been to bring people together—not only through friendship and meet-ups, but by helping each other find the right support when it’s needed most.

Sometimes, the best recommendations come from people with lived experience.

Let’s work together to create a community where nobody has to search alone. 💚

👇 Share your recommendations, experiences or questions in the comments below. Your comment could make a real difference to someone else.

💚 ADHD Support Groups – Cork & Online 💚

One of our lovely group members asked me to share this after it was recommended to them by their therapist. They thought it might be helpful for others in our community who are looking for support.

Finding the right support isn’t always easy. Sometimes the hardest part is simply knowing what’s available or taking that first step to reach out. Whether you’ve recently been diagnosed, are waiting for an assessment, support someone with ADHD, or have been living with ADHD for years, connecting with people who understand can make a real difference.

The information below highlights some of the support groups available through ADHD Ireland, including both in-person groups in Cork and online support groups.

Some of the groups include:
🧠 Adult ADHD Support Group
👩 Women’s ADHD Support Group
👨 Men’s ADHD Support Group (online)
👨‍👩‍👧 Parents of Children with ADHD
👨‍👩‍👦 Parents of Adults with ADHD
🎨 ADHD Creatives Support Group
🤝 Family Social Events

Support groups can be a great way to:
💚 Meet people who understand your experiences.
💚 Share tips and coping strategies.
💚 Learn more about ADHD.
💚 Feel less alone.
💚 Build confidence and friendships in a supportive environment.

Please remember that everyone’s journey is different. What works for one person may not work for another, and that’s okay. The important thing is finding support that feels right for you.

If you’ve attended any of these groups and feel comfortable sharing your experience, your feedback may help someone else who is thinking about attending for the first time.

Likewise, if you know of any other local support groups, charities, organisations or services that have helped you, please feel free to share them in the comments. Together, we can build a directory of helpful resources for our community.

A huge thank you again to the member who suggested sharing this. Sometimes one recommendation can make a real difference to someone who’s been searching for help.

Remember, you’re never alone, and it’s always okay to ask for support. 💚
