๐Ÿš‘ Mallow 10 Mile Road Race ๐Ÿš‘

Today Mallow/Charleville Irish Red Cross was proud to provide medical cover for the Mallow 10 Mile Road Race ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

With over 20 dedicated volunteers on duty, we deployed 6 vehicles from Rapid Response Jeeps to fully equipped road ambulances, along with a fully staffed medical tent at the event.

Thankfully our services were not required, which is always the best outcome. Our teams remained ready and prepared throughout the day, ensuring a safe event for all involved.

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers for giving up their time and energy to help keep everyone safe, and well done to all the runners who took part ๐Ÿ‘

Great day for our team at Mallow Charleville Red Cross!

Three of our Emergency Medical Technicians took part in an interagency exercise today, organised by Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) and the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board (IHRB).

The exercise focused on how best to respond to incidents involving fallen jockeys and horses during a race, while maintaining both crew safety and high standards of patient care.

It was a fantastic opportunity to work alongside our colleagues from the Order of Malta and Civil Defence, which also included Doctors, Vete and Racetrack ground staff. sharing skills and learning together in a realistic training environment. We also had a visit from the HSE/NAS southern air ambulance Aeromed01 crewed by 2 specialist paramedics who gave a great incite to the aircraft and the workings of it.

A big thank you to HRI and IHRB for the invitation and for facilitating such a valuable learning experience. We look forward to bringing this knowledge back to our weekly training sessions as we prepare for the upcoming Point-to-Point season.

Weโ€™d like to kindly remind everyone using the sports facilities, community areas or parking around the swimming pool area not to park in front of the construction gates marked โ€œAmbulance Route.โ€

These gates provide essential access and egress for our crews and ambulances. While the construction work may have finished, our Irish Red Cross members still needs regular access to our base located behind the swimming pool.

If a vehicle is found blocking this route and the owner cannot be located, the Gardaรญ will be contacted to have the obstruction removed.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

๐Ÿš‘ Today our team attended the Jim Walsh Forestry Rally!
This challenging off-road event put our 4x4 ambulance to good use on the stage.

Thankfully, our medical assistance wasnโ€™t needed today, but we were proud to be there providing cover.
