Today we were honoured to welcome local man Robert Sheahan on our radio show "Community Health Matters" at West Limerick 102FM talking about his inspiring journey and his honour of representing Ireland at the European Transplant Games next month. 🇮🇪

Robert is an incredible ambassador showing the strength, resilience and gratitude that organ donation can bring. All of us here in the West Limerick Primary Health Care Project for Travellers wish Robert and Team Ireland the very best of luck.

We were also joined by Colin White from the Irish Kidney Association who spoke to us about the importance of speaking with your loved ones about the gift of organ donation stating it has often been described by doner families as "the one bright light in a very dark time".

Tune in to Community Health Matters on West Limerick 102fm on the 2nd of June after the 11am news to hear this moving and inspiring interview. Well done to all involved.

Dates for the diaries - Hello, How Are You? Newcastle West
When: Wednesday 13th 2026 11am, Market House V42 Y425

Hello, How Are You? is a campaign in May about connecting with those around us and engaging in open conversations about mental health. It’s about asking the question, ‘How Are You?’ with meaning, and really listening to the response.

We will be joined by Cillian Keane (Development Officer) from Mental Health Ireland who will give a short talk called 'Conversations that Connect'.

Join us with our colleagues from West Limerick Mental Health Association and Newcastle West Women's Shed who are co-hosting this wonderful community event. A cuppa, chat and good community connection guaranteed. 😃

Supported by West Limerick Mental Health Association and SICAP.
The Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) is co-funded by the Irish Government, through the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, and the European Social Fund Plus under the Employment, Inclusion, Skills and Training (EIST) Programme 2021 -2027.
