๐ Kells Doesnโt Run Itself ๐
Every light at Christmas, every flower box in summer, every parade, every festival โ they donโt just appear. They happen because of local committees, made up of volunteers who have been giving their time for years.
Think about it. Kells Christmas Lights, Kells Tidy Towns , Kells Local Heroes , St. Patrickโs Day Committee, Hinterland Festival Kells , Samhain Festival Kells, Kells TypeTrail , Kells By Candlelight , the GAA and sports clubs, Scouts, Kells-Family Resource-Centre, Kells Musical & Dramatic Society 1976 & MANY MANY more who just do what they do for the pride of their community โ all run by ordinary people in our town.
And hereโs the truth. If those same people stop, all of this stops. No lights. No parades. No tidy town. No magic. Itโs not the council, itโs not โsomeone else,โ itโs the people of the town.
These groups are always open to new members, and especially need younger people to step up. Because one day the people who have been carrying this for decades simply wonโt be able to anymore.
Wouldnโt it be a shame if the lights went dark, the festivals ended, or the parades stopped marching, all because we assumed โah sure, someone else will do itโ?
๐ Volunteer where you can. Help out when youโre able. Fundraise with them. Bring your ideas, your energy, your bit of time. Every hand makes the load lighter, and every effort keeps the magic alive in Kells.
If you love this town, be that someone. Join a group. Keep Kells alive. โค๏ธ
