Over the last few months, we have had the opportunity to bring an incredible group of young people together, through our Youth in Unity project.

Each week, they share their time, experiences, and ideas as they work together to challenge racism and discrimination in Galway, by creating something which promotes a sense of belonging for all young people.

Thank you to our fabulous and dedicated creative facilitator who has helped our young people on this journey.

We are so excited to share more as the work continues, and so proud of the efforts of our group so far! So stay tuned for more!

Last week, the Integration Support Youth Project wrapped up its summer camps in the east of Galway City and across Galway County.

We are so grateful to have had so many young people participate in activities with us over the last few months.

Thank you to Venture Out WP and Galway Sports Partnership for helping closing out our summer with an exciting afternoon for our 13-17 year olds in Athenry, full of team work and skill building.

We are so looking forward to a fun-filled schedule of groups in the school year!

Last week our 10-13 yr olds group in Athenry travelled to Lough Atalia for an adventure with our friends at Venture Out WP

They spent the morning in nature, playing games, doing scavenger hunts, and talking about what being outdoors means to them.

The highlight of the day was learning how to safely build a fire, under the guidance of the wonderful experts at Venture Out.

Last week in Merlin Woods with some of the young people from Liosban!

We learned about the history of Merlin Castle, discovered how best to take pictures of the nature and wildlife around us, and even had the chance for some performances in the beautiful amphitheatre space!

When we went to beach at the end of camp the young people also spent hours looking for fish and crabs, and observing how they live!

This week marked the first of our summer events in Galway County!

We started in Carraroe, with a three day summer camp.

The young people had a blast expressing themselves through arts and crafts, expanding their knowledge with science experiments, and enjoying some beautiful summer weather at the beach!
