Galway City Comhairle na nÓg is a youth council, it is all about having your say on things that affect young people. Being on the committee is fun and rewarding, you get a lot out of it if you put a lot into it. Make new friends, build confidence, presenting your work to other young people and to decision makers on important topics. Learn new skills (communication/problem solving) have great exper

iences. Who is it for? Young people between 12-17 in Galway City. The committee represents ALL young people in Galway! Inclusive of all young people of different age, gender, ability and different backgrounds. Everyone deserves to have their voice heard and opinion respected. If a young person is not on the committee they can still get involved by coming to Comhairle events and following our page to contribute and see the progress we are making on topics throughout the year. The committee also sometimes links in with schools or local areas to do surveys and questionnaires with young people on topics or provide information on what Comhairle can do for them. When and Where? Galway City Comhairle na nÓg committee meet weekly on Mondays

🥳 Ring in the New Year in Galway City!
📍St Nicholas Collegiate Church
⏰6pm-9pm (Light installation from 5pm), New Year's Eve

Specially created for young families, this magical evening of heartwarming music gives young children and families the opportunity to enjoy a unique New Year countdown together!

From 6pm to 9pm on New Year's Eve, the iconic St Nicholas Collegiate Church will host a free event with a magical line up of music including the Galway Ukulele Tribe, the TBL8 brass band, and the eclectic PrYmary Colours.

All of which will be set to the backdrop of the mesmerizing art installation, “Trick of the Light", created by local Galway artists, Jennifer Cunningham and Jane Cassidy, in conjunction with Galway Training Centre, Merlin Park. The light installations also feature recordings of songs created by Galway Training Centre with musicians Caroline and Colin Stanley.

An early family New Year’s Eve countdown for Galway City will take place from 8.30pm, with the event finishing at 9pm.

Trick of the Light can be viewed at St Nicholas Church and Spanish Arch daily from 5pm-9pm, from 27 December to 2 January. Trick of the Light is funded by CreativeIrl and Galway City Council.
