A very enjoyable day in the Galtee Vee Valley started with a fascinating tour of Mitchelstown Cave complete with brilliant rendition of Ride On by Christy Griffin to test out the acoustics.
Onto Glengarra Wood for an 8km walk with a break at Glengarra Mountain Lodge for a picnic with delcious food from Clogheen The Market Stone Bar & Restaurant and Valley Fruit &Veg.
With the walk complete the final stop was at Galtee Honey Farm for a very informative tour from Aoife on the process of making honey and the vital roles of the bees in our environment complete with a tasting of 6 different honies

A fabulous Day Tour to another stunning corner of Ireland as we spent the day on the Seven Heads Peninsula taking in a mixture of local walks from Butlerstown along the Seven Heads Trail, Lusitania Trail and Fuchsia trail to Courtmacsherry and then had a lovely BBQ on the lawn of Courtmacsherry Hotel looking out on the harbour.
Keep an eye out for plenty more trips to more stunning location

We have put together a new 8-week Couch to 10K Walking Programme at Siul Eile to help you do exactly that.

It is very simple, three walks a week, gradually increasing the distance as the weeks go by. There is no target pace and it is definitely not a race.

The programme includes the full 8-week digital guide, a complete audio version and individual weekly audio tracks so you can follow along week by week.

The value of this programme is €29, but we would much rather use it to encourage more people to get out walking.

We had a fantastic time in Kinnitty last April and it was a great weekend, so we are heading back again from the 9th–11th October.

This time we will get to see the Slieve Blooms in their autumn colours and hopefully plenty of crunching leaves underfoot 🍂

We will be staying for two nights in the beautiful four star Kinnitty Castle, with two guided walks over the weekend and plenty of time for good food, a chat and a bit of craic in the evenings.

The weekend includes two nights accommodation, breakfast both mornings, dinner Friday and Saturday evening, packed lunches, bus transfers and the two guided walks.

We have twin rooms available as well, so if you have a friend you enjoy getting away and walking with, this could be a lovely weekend for the two of you.
