Over the past few weeks, the children at Tumaini La Maisha have been enjoying fresh, healthy brown bread generously provided every day by Inuka Bakery and Workshop. 🍞💛

What makes this partnership even more meaningful is the work Inuka is doing beyond the bakery, creating opportunities and promoting inclusion by employing people with disabilities.

We are grateful to the Inuka team for their generosity, kindness and commitment to our children. Thank you for going the extra mile and for reminding us that inclusion is most powerful when it is put into action. ❤️

We truly appreciate your support and partnership. There are so many ways to support TLM’s cause, write to is today at [email protected]

Last week, TLM Tanzania CEO, Dr. Trish Scanlan, and CFO, Ms. Britney Mwamugunda, visited Simiyu and neighbouring regions in the Lake Zone as part of our ongoing efforts to expand access to childhood cancer care across Tanzania.

Through our National Childhood Cancer Network (NCCN), we currently support 22 sites nationwide, helping provide children with access to cancer diagnosis, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and follow-up care closer to home.

Our visit to Simiyu Regional Referral Hospital marks an exciting step towards a potential partnership that could help bring these vital services closer to children and families in the Lake Zone.

And we’re looking ahead. Which region should be next? 👇

July was a particularly special month for us at TLM, thanks to the incredible courage and generosity of Karishma Mehta, a pharmacist from London who took on the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for children with cancer in Tanzania.

With a career rooted in cancer care, Karishma has seen first-hand the strength of patients and families navigating cancer. That experience inspired her to step far outside her comfort zone and take on one of the biggest physical challenges of her life.

Through long days of trekking, high altitude, thinning air, changing terrain and freezing conditions, she kept going and ultimately raised an incredible £2,500 for Tumaini La Maisha.❤️

This contribution will directly support children receiving cancer treatment, including the purchase of essential chemotherapy medications and other critical needs.

Karishma’s journey reminds us that you don't have to be here every day to make a difference. Sometimes, compassion crosses borders, climbs mountains and brings hope exactly where it is needed.

Thank you, Karishma, for choosing to climb for our children and for helping us keep Tumaini La Maisha alive. 🏔️❤️

“Ushirikiano huu umetoa matokeo makubwa.

Over the past two weeks, Dr. Simon Kawandakamu has been part of an impactful outreach programme, a collaboration between TLM Tanzania and Nomad, a safari and tourism company in Tanzania.

Based in the heart of the Serengeti, our medical team provided free diagnostic services, cancer screening and health awareness to rural communities. Some patients received treatment on the spot, while others were referred to district and regional hospitals for further care.

We are incredibly grateful to Nomad Safaris for funding the programme and providing accommodation and transportation, making this life-saving outreach possible.

Partnerships like these save lives. ❤️

Survivor Spotlight | Brian Kutaga

Today, we are proud to celebrate Brian Kutaga, a childhood leukemia survivor whose journey reminds us why hope is always worth holding onto.

Brian was under the care and support of TLM Tanzania from 2019 to 2023, showing extraordinary courage and resilience throughout his treatment. Today, at 18 years old, he is thriving, pursuing his senior secondary education in Kenya, and working towards his dream of becoming a pilot.

His story is a powerful reminder that childhood cancer is treatable, and that with timely care, unwavering support, and determination, children can go on to achieve incredible things.

Brian, we are immensely proud of how far you've come. Thank you for inspiring us and so many others. Your journey gives hope to every child and family currently facing cancer.

These are the moments that keep us going.
