As part of go Purple Day we had community Gardai Jennifer and Deirdre come in to speak to some of our Traveller women about raising awareness of Domestic abuse. Meaningful conversation, and approaches were discussed.
Thanks to the 2 ladies again it was a great discussion opportunity 🙌

RCSI's Traveller and Roma Communities Access Scholarship aims to increase the participation of members from the Traveller and Roma Communities in RCSI's Undergraduate programmes:

Advanced Therapeutic Technologies (ATT)
Dentistry
Medicine
Physiotherapy
Pharmacy

The scholarship is open to applicants who are eligible for Higher Education Access Route (HEAR) and is an addition to the supports provided through the Government Free Fees Initiative and SUSI grant.

How to apply

Applicants must:

Be eligible for admission to one (or all) of RCSI’s undergraduate degree programmes through the CAO – Medicine (course code RC001), Physiotherapy (course code: RC004), Pharmacy (course code: RC005), Advanced Therapeutic Technologies (RC006) and/or Dentistry (RC007).
Submit a CAO application listing Medicine (RC001) or Physiotherapy (RC004) or Pharmacy (RC005) or Advanced Therapeutic Technologies (RC006) or Dentistry (RC007).
Be a member of the Traveller Community or Roma Community.

Have resided in Ireland for at least three of the five years preceding admission.
Present a minimum of six recognised Irish Leaving Certificate subjects and meet the minimum subject grade requirements for the programme that you are applying to - these can be found on the 'Entry Requirements' tab of each programme page, accessible via the links above (in point one).

If applying for Medicine (RC001), present a HPAT result in the year of admission; achieve a minimum of 480 points; and meet the minimum subject grade requirements for the five or six-year Medicine programme in the same sitting of the Irish Leaving Certificate examination.

Complete the online scholarship application form (below) by the closing date of 1 July. Early application is encouraged.

Arrange for a confidential academic referee to complete the scholarship confidential academic reference form in advance of the closing date of 1 July.
