What a fantastic way to close out the Toastmasters year in Bandon.
Thursday night marked our final meeting before we break for the summer, and what a session it was. The room was buzzing with energy from start to finish – the kind of atmosphere that reminds you exactly why this community is so special. We’ll be back in full swing again in September, but this felt like a perfect way to pause and reflect.
We had a lively and engaging Table Topics session led by Donal, keeping everyone thinking on their feet with spontaneity and humour. Two excellent prepared speeches from Imelda and Majella showcased real progress, confidence and craft, and both were thoughtfully and expertly evaluated by Tony, offering constructive insights that help every speaker grow.
A special mention to Pascal, our Toastmaster of the Day, who ran a very tight and seamless meeting, keeping everything flowing smoothly from start to finish. Behind the scenes, Kevin as Timer and Colette as Grammarian ensured the meeting ran to standard and every detail was captured – roles that are so important to the overall experience.
And yes, it was the hottest day of the year… but we still managed to add a little fun with ice cream to cool things down!
At its heart, Toastmasters International is far more than a public speaking club. It is a community of people committed to supporting each other, building confidence, and growing together – one speech, one meeting, one moment at a time. Bandon Toastmasters reflects that spirit beautifully, and this year has been a great reminder of what can be achieved when people encourage each other to step forward.
Here’s to a well-earned summer break, and an even stronger return in September.
