The independent TD's who have supported and continue to support the government should be ashamed!

Answer me this - does anyone else feel let down by the government? That they no long represent the people?

Fuel prices rising... I think the garage owners are behind the protests... Forcing up the price further!

There’s something that doesn’t quite add up about the sudden rise in fuel protests across Ireland.

If the goal is to challenge fuel costs and dependency, is using convoys of fuel-powered vehicles really the most effective way to make that point? It feels like the message risks getting lost in the method.

There’s no question people are under pressure — rising costs are real, and frustration is justified. But surely there are more impactful, creative, and consistent ways to raise awareness without reinforcing the very issue being protested?

Peaceful demonstrations, community action, coordinated walkouts, or even symbolic actions that don’t rely on fuel might send a stronger message and be harder to ignore.

Protest is powerful when the message and the method align. Right now, it’s worth asking: are we being heard clearly, or just seen loudly?
