County Roscommon’s Ballaghaderreen, like many towns, has changed in many ways. And while the conduits for social connection have changed, the need for connection certainly hasn’t.
For many local men, Ballaghaderreen Men’s Shed provides a social outlet that would otherwise not exist.
Founded without a place to call home in 2018, the shed runs a huge range of activities and is one of the most active and well-equipped sheds in the west of Ireland.
“It’s not that we offer anything extraordinary,” says Cyril O’Connor, Chairman of Ballaghaderreen Men’s Shed.”
