HAS MICHÉAL MARTIN GOT HIS NEXT JOB LINED UP IN BRUSSELS?

Let's look at the facts.

In January 2024, Micheál Martin's name was publicly circulated as a possible candidate for President of the European Council, one of the EU's most powerful political positions.
He has since become Taoiseach and is leading the Irish Government's campaign to remove the Triple Lock.
On 21 October 2026, his Government secured a 79–71 Dáil vote to remove the UN Security Council approval requirement for overseas deployments of Irish troops.
The current European Council President, António Costa, began his term in December 2024. His 2½-year term reaches its renewal point in May 2027.
The EU's 2026 budget allocates €470,000 for the President's basic salary and another €104,000 for entitlements related to the position.
That is a substantial financial package.
Now here is the question:
Could Micheál Martin be positioning himself for a senior European job when his time in Irish politics comes to an end?
There is no proof of a promised appointment or a deal linking the Triple Lock to a future job. But his previous links to the top Brussels position are documented.

A 10 year old girl. A child who was missing from State care. That's who was at the centre of this case.

A year on, the State walks into court and drops the charges. No explanation. Not a word to the public.

Then within hours, the same man is arrested for deportation. So the State thinks he shouldn't be in this country, but it won't tell us why the case fell apart?

People deserve answers. Why were the charges dropped? Who made that call? And how did a 10 year old in the care of the State end up in this situation in the first place?
