The violation of human rights has become an everyday occurrence at Europe's borders. Whether pushbacks on the open sea & in the Balkans, horrendous conditions in camps on the Greek islands or the homelessness on the streets of Athens - the status quo is unacceptable. We are a humanitarian organization of volunteers from all over Europe that want to put solidarity into action. Our aim is to support

displaced people at our borders with humanitarian aid and drawing attention to political failures of the European member states that tolerate the crisis.

Three years ago today, up to 750 people were aboard the Adriana off the Greek coast. 104 survived. All men. An estimated 600 people drowned, including up to 100 children locked in the hold below deck.
Multiple independent investigations found evidence that the Greek Coast Guard's actions directly caused the boat to capsize. Leaked audio contradicted the official narrative. Survivors had their phones confiscated.

Three years on, felony charges have been filed against 21 Coast Guard members, including the current Commandant, who was promoted while under investigation. No disciplinary action has been taken. Families across Pakistan, Syria, Palestine, Egypt, and Afghanistan are still waiting for justice.
Since 2014, more than 34,000 people have died or gone missing in the Mediterranean. 2026 is on track to become one of the deadliest years on record.

We demand accountability. We demand safe passage. We refuse to look away.

🎪 Every time visits .lesvos, something shifts. Suddenly there’s more laughter in the hallways, more lightness in the air.

Emergency Smile is the crisis response programme of , sending trained healthcare clowns to communities affected by displacement and crisis. At Paréa, we welcome their team several times a year for performances with children and families, and for Humour Relief Workshops with our staff and volunteers.

These visits aren’t just fun (though they are that too). For people living in stressful and uncertain conditions, moments of genuine play and laughter matter. And for the teams working in these settings day after day, the workshops are a real reset.

49 people at Vial Camp on Chios have been on hunger strike for over a week, after receiving negative decisions on their asylum claims. With their red cards closed, they cannot leave the island, and around 15 people are reportedly already detained.
We stand in solidarity with them and call on the Greek Asylum Service to open their red cards, grant freedom of movement, and end the detentions.

This Pride Month, we want to talk about what happens when q***r people actually seek safety in Europe.
In 2023, Uganda passed the Anti-Homosexuality Act. Same-sex relationships can be punished with life in prison. In some cases, the law allows the death penalty. Since then, hundreds of people have been arrested or attacked.
Those who make it to Europe face a different kind of barrier. To receive asylum, they have to prove their sexual orientation in interviews designed around Western cultural references and stereotypes.
Pride is about the fight for rights, visibility, and safety and that fight does not stop at Europe's borders.

Last weekend, Paréa Prints hit the beach at Q***r Ranch Festival and what a time it was. We set up our screens right by the sea, printed fresh ΛΕΣΒΟΣ tees, and met so many wonderful people along the way.
Huge thank you to ***r_ranch_festival for having us and for creating such a warm, welcoming space on this island we love.

This month's "Faces of Paréa" features Bahaa Aldeen from Palestine. 💛
A moka, a coffee, a tea. People smiling, dancing, moving through their day. When Bahaa is stressed, he comes to Paréa, and something shifts. That is not a small thing.
But Paréa is also a place where practical life gets a little less hard. A legal consultation before an asylum interview. A washing machine available whenever he needs one, because that kind of flexibility isn't always easy to find.
Bahaa said "thank you for this amazing place." We pass that thank you on to everyone who makes it possible.
