Happy 40th birthday, Mallory! 🎈🌊

Today Mallory turns 40. And next week, she’ll be celebrating in true Go Overboard style: by swimming 3km from Albania to Corfu and raising funds for marine conservation in the Ionian Islands.

Mallory has already raised £415 towards her £1,000 target, with seven supporters behind her. So for her birthday, we’d love to help give that total a proper push.

Couldn’t make it to Corfu? Missed out on this year’s sold-out Albania to Corfu swim? You can still swim with us. 🌊

The Go Overboard Global Challenge is open until October: choose your distance, swim anywhere in the world and be part of this year’s challenge.

Head out to sea with your open-water swimming club, do a few lengths at your local pool, get a group of friends together or make it part of your holiday. 1km, 2km, 3km or more. You choose.

Sign up, choose your challenge and, if you can, use your swim to help raise funds for marine conservation through our Crowdfunder.

We swim: for the people, for the challenge, for the sea, for the purpose.

In 2 weeks, more than 100 swimmers will take on the Albania to Corfu crossing. But Go Overboard has never been only about the people in the water.

Swam with us before? Supported us from the shore? Believe in what we’re trying to do? Now’s the time to help us push the fundraising.

Meet Alexandra from Ionian Environment Foundation, who’ll be taking on the Albania to Corfu crossing with us on 12 September. 🌊

Something a little different for the Friday before the swim. 🌊

On 11 September, Bahia Mare in Barbati becomes the Go Overboard Swimmers’ Hub for the day — and it’s not just for swimmers.

Come and spend the afternoon with us. Meet the Go Overboard team, say hello to this year’s Albania to Corfu swimmers, and meet the team from Ionian Environment Foundation to hear more about the conservation work the challenge helps support.

There’ll be swimming, food, drinks, the beach, plenty of familiar faces and hopefully a few new ones too. If you’ve followed Go Overboard from Corfu, supported a swimmer, donated, volunteered, or simply want to find out what we’re doing, we’d love to see you there.

Bring friends, bring family, come for lunch or stay into the evening — and help us spread the word about a weekend that is ultimately about much more than crossing 3km of sea.

A huge thank you to Bahia Mare Corfu for welcoming us and giving the Go Overboard community a home for the day. 💙

Eight years later, they’re doing it all over again. 🌊

Fliss & John first swam from Albania to Corfu in 2018. This September, they’re coming back to take on the crossing once more — and this time they’re using their swim to raise funds for the Ionian Environment Foundation.

They’ve already smashed their £1,000 fundraising target, raising £1,240 with 22 supporters. A huge thank you to Fliss, John and everyone who has backed their swim so far! 👏

This is exactly what Go Overboard is about: taking on a challenge, bringing people together and turning every swim into support for the places we care about.

Whether you’re training for Albania to Corfu, taking on the Global Challenge, or simply starting to swim outdoors, stay safe, build your confidence and enjoy the water.
