On behalf of Community in Action, you are invited to join us for a Volunteers’ Week Celebration at the Middleton Hall, The Centre:MK on Wednesday 3 June, 4-6pm. (Was previously promoted to be at the MK Rose in Campbell park this has been changed due to weather.)

This is a relaxed, drop-in event to celebrate the people who give their time to support others and strengthen our communities across Milton Keynes.

There’ll be:

Community and volunteering stalls
Performances
Real volunteer stories
Everyone is welcome, invite your family and friends – just come along anytime between 4–6pm. No booking needed.

Whether you already volunteer, are thinking about getting involved, or simply want to celebrate the amazing contribution volunteers make, it would be lovely to see you there.

What a fantastic and busy week it’s been for our members!

Three events in a row — a wonderful week of community gatherings, family ties and laughter.

We had three events in a row —
We kicked things off with a brilliant reggae evening at the North Western Pub, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

On Bank Holiday Monday, we came together for an impromptu lovely picnic in Willen Park, supported by members and their friends and family.

Followed by half term break where we at the One Luncheon Club welcomed our 'Intergenerational' fun activities with the children, including face painting, henna, and playdough.

We also held a raffle and tombola, making it a great day for everyone involved.

🎶💃 There was plenty of energy, laughter, and movement at One Love Luncheon Club today!
A big thank you to Carla for delivering a fantastic Music & Movement session. The room came alive as members joined in, moved to the music, and enjoyed every moment together.
We also have to give a special mention to Lola, whose confidence shone brightly today. When asked to read out the quiz questions, she stepped up without hesitation and did a brilliant job. Watching our members grow in confidence and support one another is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do. 🌟
Moments like these remind us that it's never too late to learn something new, have fun, and surprise yourself.

A huge thank you and appreciation to everyone who supported our 1st Anniversay event in April.

It was a thriving success in terms of turnout, participation and energy. We are so grateful and thankful to the Mayor of MK for attending our One Year Anniversary celebrations. His kind words commending the the One Love Luncheon Club, and our work in the community meant so much to us all.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Giddeon Adebanji for bringing such wonderful harmony through his saxophone performance, effortlessly getting everyone up and dancing.

A heartfelt thank you to Ghamzeh Mahdizadeh for decorating the hall with such style and innovation, truly bringing the venue to life and creating such a warm atmosphere.

Thank you to EBS Caterers for contributing the delicious hot meals that everyone thoroughly enjoyed — especially the rice and peas, which went down an absolute treat!
We also want to recognise our incredible team of volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of the club: Wangu, Heidi, Pauline, Nic, Carla, Owen, and Clem. Your dedication and hard work are deeply appreciated.
