It's never a dull moment at the One Love Luncheon club. This week we welcomed MK Community Police, Lotti and Jack who were lovely and engaging. Lunching with the club members, leading in games and dancing. We had lots if fun and laughter. Good vibes all round and another great afternoon spent building, friendships, relationships and memories.

Great Yarmouth 2026

Do you remember summer holidays and day trips to the beach. Waking up at the crack of dawn to get the coach, the those carribean cook up picnics, the excitement of the day, fun fair, the beach, the sweets, and the candy floss, not forgetting the location stick of rock. If you do, then you can imagine the excitement of today when the One Love Luncheon Club and some of our members took a trip down memory lane to Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
What a wonderful, eventful day we had. The joy of being with new friends, old friends and family, on the fun trip to the seaside with a basket full of Caribbean food and drinks delight.
Fried Chicken, Mac Cheese, Salad, harddough bread, bun and cheese, black rum cake, coconut drops, rum punch, Guinness punch, virgin wines and cocktails. Relaxing and eating the the rhythm of the reggae beat.

Big thank you to the residence of Falaise Nook Bolbeck Park. TŔhe One Love Luncheon Club were delighted to spend the afternoon picnicing with some of the residence.

We had a wonderful time, eating a delicious picnic spread provided by One Love Luncheon Club also, was treated to delicious Ice Cream from Milton Ice Creams.

In true one Luncheon club vibes, we chatted, mingled and danced a beautiful afternoon away.

The One Love Luncheon Club is close on Tuesday 11th August.

But you can join us for an open air picnic on Wednesday 12th August at Falaise Nook, Bolbeck Park from 3.30 to 6.30pm

We would love to see you. Everyone is invited and warmly welcomed.

A small cost of £5 per head will help towards the continuous running of the One Love Luncheon club in Wolverton which will re-open on Tuesday 18th August 12:30 to 3.30 as usual.

Jamaica Independence Day was joyfully celebrated at the One Love Luncheon Club with a delicious homemade authentic Jamaican meal of ackee and saltfish, served with boiled green banana and hard dough bread.

Our members and guest were wonderfully entertained with the love of music, heartfelt poetry and Caribbean storytelling, sharing treasured memories of growing up in the Caribbean and the experiences of those who journeyed to the UK as part of the Windrush generation.

We also celebrated Jamaica's rich heritage and culture through fun quizzes, fascinating facts, and a lively singalong to Bob Marley's Three Little Birds ("Don't Worry About a Thing"), bringing everyone together in true Jamaican spirit.

It was a pleasure to be joined by Toby from The 3 Counties Radio station and MK Community Police, making the day even more special as we enjoyed, shared, and embraced the strength of our diverse communities coming together.
