VACCINES & SECURE GARDENS 🐾

Two of our biggest non negotiables: vaccinations and secure gardens.

Vaccinations protect against serious diseases that can spread in ways people don’t always expect, even through indirect contact.

Secure gardens are essential for many of our dogs who arrive scared, unsure, or overwhelmed by the outside world. It gives them a safe space to decompress, learn, and build confidence at their own pace.

Both of these requirements are about one thing - keeping our animals safe while they transition into their new lives. 🐶🐱❤️

NEUTERING & MULTI PET HOMES 🐾

Neutering isn’t just about preventing puppies or kittens.

It plays a big role in behaviour, stability and long term harmony in the home.

Unneutered pets can experience hormone driven behaviours, and this can sometimes lead to tension or conflict between animals. And yes, this can happen even in same s*x households too.

We’ve seen relationships between pets break down over time, which can be stressful for everyone involved and sadly sometimes ends in rehoming.

Our policy is there to reduce that risk and give every adoption the best possible chance of lasting forever. 🐾

The "we're absolutely not getting another one" dads...
..who now somehow share their sofa with four dogs, three cats, a guinea pig and something they've been told is "only staying temporarily". 🤣

You didn't choose the pet life.
The pet life chose you.

Thank you for the early morning walks, the endless treat supplies, the emergency toy repairs, the belly rubs, the muddy car journeys, and for pretending you're not secretly wrapped around their little paws.

Whether you're a dad by birth, by choice, by fostering, or because a furry little creature decided you belonged to them, today we celebrate you.

CHILDREN IN THE HOME 🐾

We often get asked about our age policy.

We only rehome to homes with children aged 6 and over.

This isn’t about judging families. It’s about safety, plain and simple.

Many of our animals come from unknown or difficult backgrounds and can be frightened, unsettled, or still learning how to behave in a home. We also sadly see too many cases where young children are accidentally scratched, knocked over or overwhelmed during normal interactions with animals.

Even when it’s nobody’s fault, it can lead to heartbreak for both the child and the dog.

This rule protects everyone involved and gives our animals the best chance to settle properly. 🐾

We get it. Rules can feel a bit frustrating sometimes.

But at Wings and Paws Rescue, every single adoption requirement exists for one reason only - to protect our animals and set them up for success in their forever homes.

These aren’t random boxes to tick. They’re lessons learned the hard way, from real life situations, real animals, and real outcomes.

Over the next 2 days we’re going to explain exactly why we have them. No fluff. Just honesty, care, and a bit of rescue reality. 🐶🐱❤️

🐾💙 Foster Appreciation Post 💙🐾

There are heroes who wear capes… and then there are our foster carers, who wear fur, sleep deprivation, and the occasional mystery smell they’ve stopped questioning a long time ago 😌

Fostering isn’t just “having a pet for a bit”.

It’s the early mornings with nervous paws tapping the floor for reassurance.
It’s the first tail wag after days of quiet uncertainty.
It’s the tiny wins that no one else sees but mean absolutely everything.

It’s letting them in, knowing full well you’ll have to let them go again.
And still doing it anyway.

That kind of love? Proper special.

To every single foster home in our Wings and Paws family, you are the reason so many animals get their second chance. You make space where there was none. You turn fear into trust. You turn “I’m not sure about this” into “I think I’m going to be okay”.

Honestly, we couldn’t do this without you. Not even close.

So here’s your reminder today - you’re appreciated, you’re needed, and you are absolutely smashing it 🐶🐱💙

🔥🐾 Tiny Tigers Still Available for Adoption 🐾🔥

Four adorable kittens.
Four innocent little faces.
Four professional troublemakers. 😇

At around 10 weeks old, these mischievous mini house panthers spend their days charging around at full speed, wrestling each other, climbing things they shouldn't, and generally causing the sort of chaos that only kittens can get away with.

They are playful, confident, cheeky and absolutely full of character.

Before joining their new homes they will be vaccinated, chipped, flea and worm treated.

Because they are such active little kittens, we'd love to see them rehomed in pairs, or into homes with another young, playful cat who can keep up with their endless supply of energy.

If you're looking for a quiet companion who enjoys sitting politely and contemplating life, these probably aren't the kittens for you.

If you're looking for entertainment, laughter, occasional madness and a lot of love, step right this way. ❤️

🐾✨ Misty's fairy tale ending is waiting to be written ✨🐾

When Misty arrived in rescue, life had not been kind to her.

She was heavily pregnant, underweight, matted, frightened and clearly carrying the weight of a difficult past. Yet despite everything she'd been through, this sweet girl never stopped being gentle.

Under the loving care of her foster family, Misty has blossomed. She safely brought her puppies into the world and proved herself to be the most devoted, caring mama. She has watched her babies grow, learn and spread their wings, and now it's finally her turn.

Misty is approximately 18 months to 2 years old and is looking for a family to call her own.

❤️ House trained
❤️ Loves children
❤️ Enjoys her walks and exploring the world
❤️ Could happily live with another friendly dog

Misty would prefer a home without cats or small furry animals.

After spending so much of her young life caring for others, we'd love to see her become someone's cherished companion. A warm bed, plenty of love, and a family who will adore her for the rest of her days. That's not too much to ask for, is it? 🥹❤️

Misty will be adopted on a neutering contract, meaning her new owners agree to have her neutered (at our cost) once she's ready. .
