🧡 Did you know that June is National Microchipping Month? 🐾

So let’s talk about something small… that does a MASSIVE job.

A microchip is tiny. Like “grain of rice” tiny.
But the difference it makes when a pet goes missing? Huge. Life changing, actually 🐶🐱

Because collars fall off. Tags disappear. Doors get left open. And clever little escape artists will absolutely take that opportunity and run like it’s the Olympics 😅

A microchip helps bring them home.

BUT here’s the bit people often forget…
It only works if the details are up to date.

New home? Update it.
New phone number? Update it.
New adopter? Definitely update it.

Otherwise we’ve got a lost pet, a scanner full of hope… and a database that still thinks their “person” lives somewhere they moved out of three years ago 🫠

As a rescue, we see it far too often. Lovely animals, clearly loved, but untraceable because something small wasn’t updated.

And that’s exactly why we’re shouting about it this month 💙

🌍 1st June - Global Day of Parents 🌍

Today, we’re giving a little shoutout to a very special kind of parent… the pet pawrent ❤️🐾

The adopters who suddenly have no personal space.
The fosters who say “they’re only staying temporarily” while already buying matching blankets.
The humans who have mastered eating dinner one handed because a dog “just needs a cuddle”.
And the cat parents who are essentially unpaid staff in their own homes 😅

To every single person who has opened their heart and home to an animal in need - thank you.

Because to us, they may be “just a dog” or “just a cat”…
But to them? You are their whole world 🌎❤️

You are the comfy sofa.
The full belly.
The safe place.
The best friend.
The bringer of treats.
The picker upper of poo. Glamorous stuff really.

So today we celebrate YOU - the rescue adopters, the fosters, the failed fosters, and the people who somehow sleep on 10% of the bed while their pet sprawls like royalty 👑🐶🐱

❗Home still wanted for Larry❗

Larry is not your typical lap cat. He is not fussed about people and would rather not live in a house. He is much happier living life on his own terms outdoors. So we are looking for a suitable small holding, farm or stable yard where he can do what he does best - rodent patrol in exchange for a warm dry place to kip and a bowl of food.

He will not thank you for cuddles, he will not sit on your knee or purr in your face. But he will clear your yard of uninvited furry guests like an absolute pro. In short, he is the employee you never knew you needed.

Arms length cat owners and yard owners, this one is for you.

👑 King Richard 👑
…although around the rescue he’s much better known as “Fluffy Cat” 😂🐾

This handsome boy is around a year old and is looking for a calm, patient forever home where he can continue building his confidence at his own pace.

King Richard was originally found living in a garden shed alongside his Mom and siblings, so the big wide world can still feel a little scary for him sometimes. But wow… the progress he has made in foster care has been incredible ❤️

Day by day he’s growing in confidence, learning that humans aren’t so bad after all, and taking comfort from the other cats around him. In fact, having friendly feline company has helped him massively, so he will need a home with another kind, confident cat who can continue showing him the ropes.

He’s not the type of cat who will march into your house demanding attention on day one. He needs understanding, patience, and someone willing to let him settle in at his own speed. But watching nervous animals slowly learn to trust is honestly one of the most rewarding things ❤️

Once he feels safe, his sweet little personality starts to shine through… and that glorious fluff definitely helps 🥹🐱

Somehow… this absolute queen is still waiting.
And honestly? We’re a bit baffled 😅

😻 Meet Pippa – 8 years old, British Blue, and serving elegance with a side of sass 😻

Pippa has been with us a few months now, quietly waiting, watching people come and go… and still no one has snapped her up. Rude, really.

She arrived feeling a bit sorry for herself with a nasty ear infection, but she’s bounced right back. Looking fabulous. Feeling fabulous. Acting… well… fabulous 💁‍♀️

Now let’s get one thing straight.

Pippa is a fuss cat.
She loves attention.
Will come and sit beside you like royalty awaiting admiration.

But pick her up?
Carry her around like a baby?
No thank you. Not today. Not ever.

This is a “love me… but know your place” situation 😌

We originally thought she’d want to be the only cat in the home, but since her foster friend left, she’s been a bit… well… mopey. So we’re happy for her to live with another friendly feline companion 💛

Now for the honest bit (because we don’t do surprises here) 🐾

Pippa may need ongoing care for her ears. Right now it’s simple daily drops (around £16 a month), but there’s a chance she may need surgery in the future.

Also… she hates the drops.
So think blanket burrito, mild betrayal, and a few minutes of being judged very harshly 😅

It’s manageable. It’s doable.
But it does need someone willing to stick with her.

Hayden & Hazel… the ultimate duo you didn’t know you needed are STILL looking for their purrrrrrrfect home together.

At around 10 months old, these two are basically the definition of “partners in crime”. Where one goes, the other is never far behind - whether that’s for a cuddle, a play session, or a joint investigation into absolutely nothing at all.

They’re incredibly friendly, full of character, and completely devoted to each other. We would love to see them rehomed together because their bond is something really special - the kind that melts your heart a little bit every time you see it 🥹

Both Hayden and Hazel are neutered, have had their first vaccinations, are microchipped, and are up to date with flea and worm treatments - so they’re all set and ready to start their next chapter.

They’re also tray clean (gold star behaviour ⭐) and have settled brilliantly into home life. All they need now… is a place to call their own.

🍂🐾 AUTUMN – STILL WAITING… SOMEHOW?! 🐾🍂

We are genuinely baffled that Autumn hasn’t had a single application yet 💔

This beautiful 18 month old Lurcher is funny, clever, affectionate, loyal and full of personality. Yes, she’s a smart girl… but she’s also an absolute sweetheart who just wants her own person to adore.

Autumn forms incredibly strong bonds with the people she loves. She’s the kind of dog who wants to be involved in everything you do… your little shadow, your walking buddy, your “excuse me where are WE going?” companion 😂

And honestly? Watching her little brain work is amazing.

She’s recently started collecting her fosterer’s wellies, harness and lead and proudly bringing them into the living room when she wants a walk. Nobody taught her this. She just decided it was efficient 😭

Despite a difficult start to life, Autumn hasn’t lost her spark. She’s playful, loving, eager to learn and thrives when given attention and mental stimulation.

🐾 China & Marshall… double the wrinkles, double the personality 🐾

Our gorgeous 3 month old Shar-Pei siblings, China and Marshall, are both still searching for their furever homes ❤️

While they won’t be homed together, it makes perfect sense to share these two side by side because despite being siblings, they each have their own little personalities shining through 🥹

Both pups are gentle, sensitive souls who need patient families willing to help them grow in confidence and show them the world isn’t quite as scary as they think it is 🌍

China is the braver of the pair. She can still be a little nervous at times, but she’s discovered that life can actually be quite fun… especially when food and toys are involved 😅 She’s almost house clean, loves her food, and is starting to enjoy playtime 🧸

Marshall is the slightly more cautious sibling, especially around new people. He likes to assess the situation first and decide whether you’re worthy of his friendship 😂 But once you’ve earned his trust, he absolutely adores his people and becomes the sweetest little companion ❤️

Because of their breed, we’re looking for homes with people who either have Shar-Pei experience or are willing to properly research them. Shar-Pei are incredible, loyal dogs… but they’re definitely not a “wing it and hope for the best” breed 😅

The last of our 3 puppies from Sage & Misty's litters are still looking for their happily ever afters!
We has SO MANY applications, we really struggled to go through them all, so if you've not had a phone call from us, please feel free to re-apply.

At just 2 months old, Sidney, Willow & Rocky are still too young to leave for their new homes, but we are accepting applications to reserve them for her future families.

We believe Sidney & Willow are Cockerpoos and Rocky to be a Cocker Spaniel, although as rescue puppies we cannot guarantee their breeds.

✨ The important bits ✨
🐾 Children must be aged 6+
🏡 Renters must have landlord permission
💷 Adoption donation is £600
🐾 Successful applicants will need to pay a £300 deposit to secure adoption, followed by the remaining £300 when you collect them
🏠 Home check required
🐾 Any resident animals must be fully vaccinated and neutered - no exceptions
⏰ No all day workers unless puppies can attend work with you or you work from home

These puppies will be adopted on a neutering contract. This means adopters agree to have them neutered/spayed once old enough, with us covering the cost.

We are looking for truly wonderful homes for these babies. Homes that understand puppies are hard work, messy, bitey, chaotic little gremlins at times… but also completely worth it ❤️

☀️ HEAT STRESS CAN TURN SERIOUS FAST ☀️

With warmer weather here, it’s so important to know the signs of heat stress and heatstroke in dogs - because it can escalate incredibly quickly.

Knowing what to look for could genuinely save a life 🐾

Keep an eye out for:

🐶 Excessive panting
👅 Thick drool
🩷 Red or tacky gums
😟 Restlessness or struggling to settle
🤢 Vomiting or diarrhoea
⚠️ Weakness, collapse or seizures

If you spot signs of overheating:

💧 Move them into shade immediately
💧 Offer cool water
💧 Wet them with cool (not ice cold) water - especially tummy, paws and inner legs
💨 Use a fan if you can
☎️ Then contact your vet as soon as possible

Please don’t:

🚫 Exercise during the hottest part of the day
🚫 Assume they’ll “be fine” after a quick walk
🚫 Leave them in a car - ever
🚫 Use ice or ice cold water, as this can do more harm than good

Flat faced breeds, puppies, senior dogs, overweight dogs, and those with underlying health conditions are especially vulnerable in hot weather.

If in doubt - skip the walk, find the shade, get the paddling pool out, and let them lounge about dramatically like the little heat avoiders they are 💛

Please share - it might help someone spot the warning signs in time.
