What a fantastic evening at Wolverhampton Eye Infirmary last week!
Wolverhampton LOC was delighted to host a Vitreo-Retinal Training Session, led by the brilliant Kam Balaggan.
We welcomed 19 optometrists and 7 patients, whose participation made the session both interactive and clinically relevant. By using real clinical cases, delegates had the opportunity to put theory into practice, discuss retinal findings, and build confidence in assessing patients in a supportive learning environment.
Training like this helps optometrists strengthen their diagnostic skills, recognise sight-threatening retinal conditions earlier, and make timely, appropriate referrals. Ultimately, it means patients can access the right care more quickly and supports safer, high-quality clinical practice.
A huge thank you to Kam Balaggan for sharing his expertise, to our wonderful patients and facilitators for giving their time to support the learning of others, and to everyone who attended and made the evening such a success. We hope you found it as valuable as we did!
We’re already looking forward to our next educational event.
