Witham Boys’ Brigade & Girls’ Association

“We run youth groups so that youngsters can have fun, make friendships and learn about life. We always try to help kids understand God in such a way that it is relevant to them, and very much in their own way. In a sentence that sums up why John Boon has been a Brigade Leader for more than half a century, and 50 years ago why he started the 2nd Witham Com

pany. From their first meeting with four boys in 1972 the Company has grown to over 100 boys & girls with a dozen Officers and another three dozen adult volunteer leaders. Most join after being told about Brigade by their friends. And why not, for our activities reads like a wish list for youngsters. The difference is, that John Boon and our adult volunteer leaders can make those wishes come true, if that’s what the boys and girls in the Brigade want.

This week at Company we're spending the evening taking the time to acknowledge the hard work that had been put in by our young people.

Awards night recognises the commitment of time, the enthusiasm, the hard work and the cameradary shared by all of us... young and slightly less young.

This week, Company are going Kayaking.

We'll be meeting at Guithavon Valley Church at 6.15pm to leave by 6.30pm.

We aim to be on the water shortly after 7pm, and home and (hopefully) dry, by 9.30pm.

Bring a towel and a change of clothes!
