In June, 295 (Witham & Rivenhall) Sqn RAFAC will be doing a sponsored walk to RAF Rivenhall to raise money for a new minibus which will support the incredible opportunities we provide for our cadets!

The minibus is essential for transporting cadets safely to camps, events, competitions, flying, adventure training, community events, and so many other activities that help build confidence, teamwork, leadership, and lifelong memories.

Our current minibus is no longer reliable enough to meet the needs of the squadron, which is having an effect on the opportunities we can provide, so we are fundraising to help secure a replacement and continue giving cadets the experiences they deserve.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a huge difference and help us continue to support the young people in our community.

Please follow the link below to donate!

Huge congratulations to Sgt Smith, Cpl Woolner-Old, Cpl Ingram & Cdt Ujfalusi for completing their BTEC Level 2 Diplomas in Teamwork and Personal Development!

A CVQO workbook day was held on Saturday at 1312 (City of Southend-on-Sea) Squadron.

An additional five cadets have successfully completed the BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Teamwork and Personal Development, bringing the total number of qualifications achieved across Essex Wing this academic year to 28.

This qualification is exclusively available to cadet forces and recognises the skills, experience, and personal development gained throughout a cadet’s journey. It provides valuable evidence of key transferable skills sought by universities, apprenticeship providers, and employers.

A huge thank you to our colleagues at CVQO for their continued support in helping us deliver this course.

If you are in Years 12 or 13 and would like to find out more, please speak to a member of staff or your OC

Last week, our cadets took part in the UK Rocketry regional heat at Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome 🚀

The cadets loved learning and building, including 3D printing, and problem-solving for the last few months and on the day due to unexpected last-minute redesigns, the process is where the real learning happens.

They demonstrated great teamwork, creativity, and resilience that turns ideas into working rockets, even with one failed recovery chute there was still smiles and laughter.

They are already discussing and looking forward to next year.

Staff and cadets spent their Bank Holiday Monday at the Rugby Club supporting the May Day 10 Run organised by the Witham Running Club. Cadets helped to set up the start and finish line, hand out water to runners, give out t-shirts, and more importantly, cheering them on in the loudest possible way!

Congratulations to all the runners, and thank you to the Witham Running Club for inviting us!

Today we celebrate International Women’s Day and recognise the incredible contributions of women across the Royal Air Force Air Cadets and beyond.

From our cadets to our volunteer staff, we are proud of the dedication, leadership and achievements shown by the women and girls within 295 Squadron. Every parade night, activity and event highlights the confidence, teamwork and determination that make our squadron stronger.

Today is a chance to celebrate those who inspire us, break barriers, and show the next generation what is possible.

Thank you to all the amazing women and girls across the Royal Air Force Air Cadets who continue to inspire the next generation!

Today, we were honoured to be invited to the Mayor’s Civic Service at St. Nicholas’ Church in Witham. This event brings together community leaders, volunteers, and neighboring dignitaries to celebrate, reflect, and strengthen local community spirit.

Cpl Woolner-Old was in attendance as the current Mayor’s Cadet, and we were joined by Cpl Andrew’s who will take on the mantle as the new Mayor’s Cadet for 2026.
