THE LIGHTSHOWS ARE RUNNING… BUT SOMETHING STILL COMING!

After a rather stormy start to our 2026 season, we're pleased to say that A Lightshow to Heaven is now running our full evening schedule!

And now the real excitement begins!

We're officially on the countdown to Halloween, and although our lights are already dancing, you haven't seen anything yet!

SOMETHING IS SEEPING THROUGH FROM THE UPSIDE DOWN…

Now, we know many of you are looking forward to our Stranger Things: Part 2 Halloween display, but we want to make one thing clear…

We won't be going into full Stranger Things mode until HALLOWEEN NIGHT!

Throughout the week, however, you might start noticing a few strange things appearing around the display.

A little something here… something rather unusual there…

It seems the Upside Down is slowly finding its way into Allectus Way! 👀

And that's all we're saying for now!

So, if you're planning to visit us on Wednesday, for example, please don't think you've seen everything!

COME BACK ON HALLOWEEN NIGHT!

Because what you see earlier in the week will be a very different experience from what we're preparing for the big night.

The atmosphere, the decorations and the overall feel of the display will be transformed as the Upside Down takes hold!

We're hoping to make Halloween night something rather special this year, and we can't wait for you to see what we've been working on behind the scenes!

🎃 OUR EVENING LIGHTSHOW SCHEDULE

🟢 17:30 – Younger Children
A more family-friendly show for our younger visitors.

🔵 18:30 – Older Children
A little more excitement for our older visitors.

🔴 19:30 – Mature Audiences
Parental discretion advised. May contain frightening imagery, graphic scenes and mild language.

⏱️ Each show lasts approximately 20 minutes.

Between performances, our lights will remain on as a static display, with no music playing.

🍬 A QUICK NOTE ABOUT SWEETS!

We know the little ones love their Halloween treats, but please remember that ALL sweets are being reserved for HALLOWEEN NIGHT (31st October) ONLY!

We have a limited supply and want to make sure we can give treats to as many children as possible on the big night.

So please don't be disappointed if there aren't any sweets available during the week.

THE 2026 SHOW THAT NEARLY NEVER HAPPENED...

Yes, you read that correctly.

What many of you probably don't realise is that earlier this year, we were seriously considering cancelling our 2026 shows altogether.

Behind all the excitement, the ambitious plans and the things we've been sharing with you, there has been an enormous amount of work, challenges and obstacles to overcome.

At times, it genuinely felt like we'd taken on more than we could manage.

And for a while, we weren't sure whether we could make it happen at all.

But then something happened that changed everything.

Someone stepped forward and offered to help.

Not because they had to. Not because there was anything in it for them. Simply because they wanted to make a difference.

That someone was Thomas Seddon of Making Shift Happen, our final 2026 show supporter.

And when we say they've helped us, we really do mean it!

From collecting and transporting materials, tackling some rather ridiculous lifting and engineering challenges, donating materials and equipment, to dedicating FOUR WHOLE DAYS to helping us install our display.

All while trying to establish and run their own new business!

But perhaps the biggest contribution of all has been the encouragement, determination and willingness to help whenever another problem appeared.

Sometimes it's not just about having another pair of hands. It's about having someone there who helps you believe that something is still possible when you're beginning to think otherwise.

And their support doesn't end when Halloween and Christmas are over. They've even committed to returning in January to help us dismantle everything and transport it back into storage.

Without their involvement, there is a very real possibility that A Lightshow to Heaven 2026 would never have gone ahead.

That's not something we say lightly.

We've spent four years building this little charity lightshow into something we're incredibly proud of, raising money for Cancer Research UK along the way. The thought of not being able to bring it to you this year was heartbreaking.

But thanks to people like Thomas, we're still here, still building, and still determined to make 2026 something special.

We've put together this video to show you just some of what Making Shift Happen has done for us. There are plenty of moments we never managed to capture on camera, but every single bit of help has been appreciated.

🎃 WE'RE SWITCHING ON TONIGHT! 🟢

After keeping a very close eye on the weather following the recent storms, we're pleased to announce that A Lightshow to Heaven will be lighting up the sky tonight! 🎉

However, due to the ongoing weather conditions, we've decided to take a slightly more cautious approach to our opening night.

Our 17:30 show will NOT be running tonight, but we are pleased to confirm that our 18:30 and 19:30 shows WILL be going ahead!

We've had a few minor issues to deal with thanks to the weather, but we're happy that we can safely get things underway, even if it's a slightly later start than originally planned!

⚠️ PLEASE TAKE EXTRA CARE WHEN VISITING!

Although conditions have improved enough for us to go ahead, there are still some strong winds about, so we ask everyone to take extra care when visiting our display.

Please be mindful of your surroundings, keep a safe distance from the decorations, fencing and neighbouring properties, and make sure younger visitors are supervised.

We also ask that everyone reads our SHOW RULES before visiting. These are in place to keep visitors, our neighbours and the display safe.

We will continue monitoring the weather and may need to stop the shows at short notice if conditions become unsafe.

We're not quite at full Halloween mode just yet!

Our Stranger Things: Part 2 theme will gradually come to life as we get closer to Halloween, with more decorations and a few surprises still to be added along the way!

WILL WE BE LIGHTING UP TONIGHT?

Tonight was supposed to be the night that A Lightshow to Heaven officially started lighting up for Halloween 2026!

Unfortunately, Mother Nature seems to have other ideas! 🌧️💨

After the recent storm and some rather unpredictable weather, we've been keeping a very close eye on the forecast.

Although things was looking much calmer this morning, we're now getting some strong winds throughout the day again.

We're hoping to kick things off tonight at 5:30pm, but the safety of our visitors must always come first.

⏰ WE HOPE TO MAKE A FINAL DECISION BY 4PM TODAY!

Please check back on our page after 4pm for confirmation of whether tonight's show will be going ahead.

👀 AND JUST A LITTLE REMINDER...

If we do get the green light, our Halloween display won't be in its full Stranger Things glory just yet!

As we get closer to Halloween, more and more of the Upside Down will begin making its way into our display. We've still got some rather BIG surprises waiting to make an appearance! 🤫

We've put an incredible amount of work into this year's show, and we can't wait for you all to see what we've been up to!

For now, fingers crossed the weather behaves and we can finally start lighting up the sky! 🤞

With Halloween on the way and us constantly building and running out of room we are offering one of our older props for free.
This is first come, first takes it kinda thing.

Dimensions are in the pictures please make sure you have the means to transport it, collectionfrom witham. Alternatively you could arrange a delivery via this year's sponsor, Making Dhift Happen, but this will be at your expense and cost to be arranged with them prior to the delivery.

The pallets are all weathered and are lined from behind. Holes are cut in the w**d membrane to allow fake hands to be used or if you want to make an enclosure for an actor or two? We take no responsibility for you locking your children inside 🤣 you do this at your own risk and make sure it is safe to do so lol.

It’s finally time to reveal the full team of businesses helping us bring A Light Show to Heaven 2026 to life!

Over the past few months, we’ve introduced some amazing local businesses who have stepped forward to support what we do.

GRP Factors helped us massively with materials for this year’s display, helping us keep our build costs down and allowing us to put even more into creating Halloween 2026.

BHE Metal Recycling then joined us as our Main Sponsor for 2026, making a generous pledged donation directly towards our fundraising for Cancer Research UK. ❤️

But there’s been one name we’ve kept quiet about…

THE FINAL REVEAL IS GETTING CLOSER...

Our 2026 sponsorship is officially closed, and we honestly couldn’t be more grateful to the businesses that have chosen to support A Light Show to Heaven this year.

There is, however, one rather important announcement still to come...

We’re currently going over the final details with our 2026 Main Sponsor, and we’re hoping we’ll be able to officially reveal everything very soon.

We don’t want to give too much away just yet... but we’re incredibly excited to have them supporting what we’re doing this year.

And then... we can get back to the 'small' matter of actually finishing this year's display. 😂

50 DAYS UNTIL HALLOWEEN — THIS IS GETTING REAL!

25 days ago we said we still had a long way to go.
Well… we still have a long way to go.
We just have 25 fewer days to do it in. 😂

The workshop is somehow even more chaotic, the props are getting closer, and we're now at the stage where some of them are probably concerning anyone who happens to look over the fence.

There have been a few changes of plan, a few things that haven't quite worked the first time, and several moments of standing there thinking, “Why did we decide to make this?”
But piece by piece, it's coming together.

The biggest difference now is that we're finally starting to see the things we've had in our heads for months actually appearing in front of us — and that's when all the late nights, mess and questionable decisions start to feel worth it.

There are still some BIG things happening behind the scenes that we haven't shown you yet… we are really keeping you all hanging this year and I'm sure it will be worth it 😉

So... with only 50 days until Halloween, we're officially at the point where looking at the calendar is no longer recommended. 😂

🎃 75 Days Until Halloween — something’s coming

15 days ago we said “90 days”… and somehow things have only got more stressful and crazy.

The workshop’s still a mix of sawdust, resin fumes, and definitely questionable life choices — as I’m constantly reminded. The props are starting to look alive now, which is both exciting and mildly concerning.

We’ve hit that stage where every plan feels like a race against time, and every late‑night idea somehow becomes a more urgent problem than we originally thought. But things *are* getting exciting, and the countdown is starting to feel very real.

Give this post a like if you’re excited for this year’s display — it genuinely helps Facebook push our updates out, and honestly, we need all the encouragement we can get at this point 😂

The neighbours definitely think we’re insane. We’ve heard “what is that in your garden?” more times than we can count, along with “how’s it going — finished yet?” I *wish* we were finished… but nope. Still a long way to go!

The countdown’s officially getting serious now.
Something’s coming.
Something hungry for blood.

🎃 100 Days Until Halloween — full build mode active!

Last year we said it was 100 days until Halloween… and before we knew it, we were knee‑deep in cable ties, wires, and last‑minute panic.
The plan grew, the props multiplied, and somewhere along the way we accidentally created a project that probably needed its own project manager.

This year?
Well… we promised ourselves we’d be organised.
We promised we’d stick to the plan.
We promised we wouldn’t get distracted by new props, new ideas, or “Oooh that would look cool!” moments. And yet here we are , 100 days out and adding more ideas than we’re finishing.

At this point we’re starting to think we need to sit ourselves down and have a serious chat about priorities. Possibly with a counsellor. Maybe a financial adviser. Maybe both at the same time as something ain’t right here 😆

But here’s the honest update:
We do have some amazing new props in their final stages for Halloween 2026.
The lightshow will stay the same this year (we’ll throw in a few new songs so it looks like we made a bit of effort at least).
Some of the matching props that go with this years display are being held back for 2027 because our wallets have politely asked us to calm down and will give us something to look forward to.
When you see the display in October, you’ll understand why we’re posting this and how much time it has taken 😉
2027 Stranger Things Part 3 is when the whole thing properly wakes up and tries to escape the garden, or maybe that will be you? We shall see!
