💙 Volunteers’ Week Finale 💙

As Volunteers’ Week comes to a close, we want to finish where we started – by saying thank you.

Our volunteers are our greatest asset.

They are the reason people receive support when they need it most.

They are the reason friendships are formed, confidence is rebuilt, and communities become stronger.

The Witham Hub and The Braintree Hub have achieved so much over the years, but none of it would have been possible without the incredible people who choose to volunteer with us.

To every past and present volunteer: thank you for believing in what we do and for helping us continue putting the Unity in Community.

⏰ Every Hour Makes A Difference ⏰

Some of our volunteers give a few hours each month.

Others volunteer several days every week.

No matter how much time someone can offer, every contribution matters.

Every hour volunteered helps us provide support, reduce isolation, tackle food poverty, promote wellbeing and create opportunities for people across our communities.

Together, those hours add up to something truly remarkable.

🎉 Volunteers Make It Happen 🎉

From Dementia Awareness Days and fundraising events to community celebrations and support groups, every successful event relies on volunteers.

The planning, preparation, setting up, serving refreshments, welcoming visitors, tidying away and everything in between is often carried out by people giving their time freely to help others.

Many people only see the finished event, but behind every success is a team of dedicated volunteers working tirelessly behind the scenes.

This Volunteers’ Week we recognise and celebrate every one of them.

Every day people walk through our doors needing support, friendship, advice or simply a smile.

The first people they often meet are our incredible volunteers.

Whether making tea, helping someone complete a form, listening to a difficult story or helping someone access food support, our volunteers provide kindness without judgement.

Sometimes a smile, a conversation or simply being there can change someone’s day.

💙 Volunteering Changes Lives 💙

When people think of volunteering, they often think about giving something back.

What many don’t realise is that volunteers often gain just as much as they give.

Many of our volunteers have made lifelong friendships, built confidence, gained work experience, improved their mental wellbeing and found a renewed sense of purpose.

Some joined us after retirement, some while looking for work, and others simply because they wanted to make a difference.

Whatever their reason for joining, they have become part of our Hub family.

Thank you to every volunteer who has chosen to spend their time helping others.

Today marks the start of Volunteers’ Week, and we want to take this opportunity to say a huge THANK YOU to every volunteer who gives their time, energy, skills and compassion to support The Witham Hub and The Braintree Hub.

From serving customers in our community supermarkets and tea rooms, to leading support groups, helping with administration, fundraising, deliveries, events and behind-the-scenes tasks, every volunteer plays an important role.

Without our volunteers, we simply couldn’t support the thousands of people who walk through our doors each year.

You are the heart of our organisation and the reason we can continue putting the Unity in Community.
