EIP is an emotional & social wellbeing programme supporting young people aged 8-16 EIP consists of three projects NADT Primary, NADT Upcycle and NADT Media. Primary EIP supports young people aged 8-12 specifically who it is felt need extra support with their emotional and social wellbeing or may struggle with the transition to secondary school. Wigton W

ombles runs every Wednesday 3.30pm- 5pm for young people aged 8+. Inspired by the original Wombles the group collect and recycle litter in creative ways. Wigton Wombles identify local areas to clean up and promote the benefits of looking after their local environment. Rural Outreach are monthly youth clubs held in Kirkbride and Westnewton open to young people aged 8+, these run from 6.30pm -8pm offering sport, games and arts & crafts. Sessions are held on the first Tuesday of every month at Kirkbride Village Hall and the last Tuesday at Westnewton Village Hall. The Friday Night Project is a weekly youth session held in Silloth Sports Hall for young people aged 11-19. The open access sessions run every Friday Night from 7pm - 9pm and offers an environment where the young people can socialise safely, discuss worries, ask advice, and take part in sport and fun activities they would not normally have access to.

😊We are incredibly proud of all the children who have taken part in our Primary EIP this year, and our final group has been no exception!
Over the past few weeks, they have embraced new experiences, developed new skills, shown kindness and tackled every activity with enthusiasm.

By working together they are building resilience, confidence, coping strategies and valuable life skills, learning from challenges along the way.

It has been wonderful to see friendships grow, confidence flourish and young people realise what they are capable of achieving.

We certainly are. 🌟

🌧️ The weather may have been against us, but it certainly wasn’t going to stop our Wigton Wombles from finishing Suzie the scarecrow for our allotment!

Armed with umbrellas and plenty of enthusiasm, we headed off on a rather wet walk to a local farm that had kindly donated straw for stuffing our scarecrow – a huge thank you for your support! 😊

The young people had a fantastic time bringing Suzie to life, getting stuck into the stuffing process and, of course, enjoying some well-earned fun on the straw bales too. Sometimes the simplest activities create the best memories, and it was great to see everyone embracing a bit of good old-fashioned outdoor fun despite the rain.

Well done, Wigton Wombles – Suzie is finally ready for her new home on the allotment! 🌾👩‍🌾

What a fantastic session we had yesterday 🌱☀️

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped out! Our allotment is looking so much better already and we have to give a huge shout out to The Rebuild Site CIC for donating materials 👏😊 alongside members of the Wigton community who donated plants Wigton Food Pantry for the delicious snacks that kept us going 😊
We’ve got lots of exciting projects planned, so watch this space… 👀

A huge thank you and well done to everyone who came along and joined us for today’s litter pick! 🌍☀️

Despite the hot weather, everyone was committed to make a difference and together we collected 3 bags of litter 👏🗑️

Don’t forget, we’re back tomorrow for our allotment session 🌱 We’ll have shelter and refreshments available, so come along, get involved, and enjoy some time outdoors with us!
