HCPT is a charity that takes disadvantaged and disabled children on a pilgrimage to Lourdes, France. We are based in Wigan and take local children on holiday.

The charity is made up of lots of groups from all over the UK and beyond. PM for more info.

For our trip next year to be possible, we need a qualified nurse to join our group! If you would like to spend a fun, joyful and fulfilling week in Lourdes, as part of our group and with lots of support from our region then please get in touch.

It’s time for another helper profile and this time it’s… Mark! Mark first travelled with the group in 2023 as part of the Merseyside music group and hasn’t missed a year with 194 since!

Last trip to Lourdes: 2025

Number of pilgrimages: 4

Favourite song: can’t name a favourite song any more than I can name a favourite child. But as I have 2 children, I'll say "my lighthouse" and "10,000 reasons"

Favourite memory: Isobel, my granddaughter, kicking a football around the underground basilica. She just looked so happy and at home there

Why do you go to Lourdes with HCPT? I go to Lourdes to spend some time surrounded by unbelievably kind people

Favourite part of Lourdes: I love the torchlight procession

Favourite memory: singing One Love in the underground basilica at the end of the Trust Mass

Why do I go to Lourdes with HCPT? it's such a unique experience, no one can understand how truly amazing and rewarding it is until you go. The people and the children is what makes it so special

With the weather in England getting colder, we’re dreaming of sunny days in Lourdes! Whether we’re playing games on the prairie or eating chips and ice cream on the beach, we always make the most of the sunshine☀️ Fingers crossed the weather will be on our side in 2027!

Group 194 are getting ready for 2027!💚❤️

We are starting to plan our 2027 trip and this year is going to be a big one for us as we will be celebrating 30 years of Group 194!

Over the coming months, we will be looking back on the past 30 years that we have been travelling and sharing some of our favourite memories of Lourdes. We would love to hear from past helpers, parents or children who have travelled with us and can’t wait to share everyone’s stories. However, we know a lot of people don’t realise we have this page now after losing our old one so please share this post so that our past helpers and families can find us again!💚❤️
