This little guy can be a sweety pie. And this is something the social media’s showing all the time. But iguanas can be nasty, especially males during mating season. I’m fuming seeing all the posts how great iguanas are as a pet for non experienced, first time reptile owner. This little guy has been abandoned by the first owner, and brought to our care. First few months he was a sweetheart. Then turned around which was during mating season. He is smaller than he should be, but believe me - his bite may end up at A&E. Iguanas are lovely and can act like cats or dogs, following their human, coming for a stroke or cuddles. But they can also bite or whip their tails very fast. To own adult iguana you gave to understand their needs and behaviours, knowing signs of frustration before it ends badly for you or your iguana. We all loves Ruby vel Rubson (yep he supposed to be a girl), but we also know and experienced his bad days and aggression behaviours. Do we want to get rid of him? Of course not!!! But this post is to share awareness of how those cute little dragons can turn around in a moment. So yes, they are great creatures and pets but only when we know exactly prons and cons of owning one.
