🎉 Volunteers’ Week 2026 🎉

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has supported Widnes Rotary this year! ❤️

From helping Santa spread Christmas magic 🎅✨ to collecting donations, supporting supermarket collections, visiting care homes, driving vehicles, and volunteering at events throughout the year — you’ve helped us make a real difference in our community.

💙 Special thanks too to our 23 Widnes Rotary members. We’re also volunteers, giving our time freely to support local causes, organise events, raise funds, and help where it’s needed most.

Every hour given, every helping hand, and every act of kindness matters. Thank you for being part of it! 👏🏻🥰

🎉 Volunteers’ Week 2026 🎉

This Volunteers’ Week, we’d like to say a huge THANK YOU to every single person who has helped make our Rotary year such a success! ❤️

Special mention to those who help us at Christmas! Whether you walked alongside Santa, collected donations, helped at supermarkets, visited care homes, drove vehicles, or simply gave up your time to support us – you helped bring Christmas magic to our community and raise vital funds for local good causes. 🎅✨

💙💛 We’d also like to recognise the 23 members of Widnes Rotary. Whilst we’re often thanking others for volunteering, it’s easy to forget that every one of our members is a volunteer too! From fundraising events and community projects to collections, visits and campaigns, our members freely give their time throughout the year because they believe in making a positive difference in our community. 💙💛

😊 To everyone who volunteered, in ways big or small, thank you for helping us create a stronger, kinder community. 🥰

Following on from our last post …

We’re also really grateful to all the businesses, organisations, and individuals who donated raffle and auction prizes, including:

Once again, our community showed what can happen when people come together for a good cause 💫

🌟 A wonderful night in aid of the brilliant charity Halton Cancer Support Group, who do so much for our community. Well done for all you do and long may it continue! 👏🏻❤️@

Today The Widnes Duck Hunt and Aidan’s fundraising for Community Defibrillators - Aidansteddybearchallenge would like to continue our thanks. This time for those who have been working to help get our materials together.

We're not thanking all of the delivery companies who now know our Duck HQ location very well, but three local people/businesses who have supported us with donations and items provided at cost.

1. Catherine Smith of CAS Business Services. - Catherine has printed all of our Duck posters and provided posters for our event alongside sorting the vinyl printing for two of our games at the Festival.

2. Lara Cook who has very cleverly 3D printed two of our ducks. These are the ones which you cannot buy! More about these ducks in the coming weeks (watch out for ducks #6 and #27). Lara will be trading at the Festival and I highly recommend taking a look at her amazing work.

3. Louise at The Crafty Cabin who produced the T shirts which you saw on our video to allow us to market the event and stand out at the Festival.

Our most heartfelt thanks go to these three local businesses supporting our event. If you need anything similar then please check them out and support local businesses.

Reminder every donation from sponsors and supporters goes to the defibrillator fund and running costs are being met by Dave Green and Claire Green so any help to keep these costs reduced is very welcome.
