From meeting Disney characters to making new connections with fellow visitors, Donna embraced every opportunity to connect with others and make new memories on her magical Halloween adventure at Disneyland 🎃 She even conquered her fear of heights with a ride in the Disney hot air balloon!

This is what person-centred care looks like - supporting people to follow their dreams, build confidence, and enjoy the experiences that matter most to them. Because great support is about helping people live their best lives possible 🙌

Pleasure to welcome David Baines MP to our Mill Point supported living service in St Helens 👇

During the visit, David met people we support alongside our CEO, Jim Kane, gaining first-hand insight into how not-for-profit care can transform lives and strengthen communities. He explored our programmes and partnerships that support prevention and tackle inequalities, and heard directly from people about the opportunities, connections and independence they have gained as a result.

The visit also built on David's support for our Learning Disability Super League, with Mill Point's St Helens fans sharing their love of rugby league! 🏉

What does a new vision for social care look like in action?

At the Labour Party Conference, the people we support were at the heart of the conversation, showing MPs and policy leaders what becomes possible when social care and communities work together.

For ten years, our partnership with the Rugby Football League has challenged health, social and economic inequalities - creating bold innovations that enable disabled people to live their Best Life Possible.

At Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium, MPs trained alongside players from the Community Integrated Care Learning Disability Super League and experienced the impact of that partnership first-hand. They saw how a National Care Service can be empowered by a more inclusive nation.

Today, our CEO, Jim Kane, and Head of Policy & Public Affairs, Ben Lehan-Powick, were in London meeting with Damian Hinds, the newly appointed Shadow Secretary of State for Health and Social Care.

The discussion covered key issues facing our sector, including fair pay for social care colleagues, the vital role of not-for-profit providers, and the opportunities innovations such as Technology Enabled Care can create to improve support and outcomes.

We're committed to continue engaging with politicians to ensure the voices of the people we support, our colleagues, and the wider social care sector are heard. 🪧
