Counties

Counties Counties is a network of people and resources who want to make Jesus known across the UK by inspiring and equipping local churches.
(1)

Our vision is to make Jesus known across the UK. For more than 100 years, Counties has been sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with communities across the country. We do this through three main areas of our work – evangelists , training and resources. Evangelists work in counties across England and Wales in a variety of activities. These include: church planting, leading school assemblies, visi

ting prisons, witnessing at agricultural shows, leading holiday clubs and camps, manning market stalls, running café churches and evangelism courses and community door-to-door visiting. Counties equips the church through its extensive range of training. Day conferences, seminars, workshops, as well as one-to-one mentoring sessions are held throughout the year to help churches grow through evangelism and local mission. From major mobile exhibitions through to books and leaflets for the individual, there are plenty of Counties resources available to help people share the good news. Our innovative Life and GSUS Live exhibitions have reached thousands of school children with the story of Jesus. Counties people (Evangelists) work locally - often in a county or alongside a church; several have a national brief. Some work with young people others among the marginalised or in education. It’s difficult to describe a typical Counties Evangelist as each develops a work that plays to their strength. However, sharing ‘making Jesus known across the UK’ is the heartbeat of each Counties Evangelist.

Meet the church planter: Clive Cornish
Clive has a heart for helping ex-offenders stay on the right path and develop in their faith. He regularly visits prisoners at HM Prison Prescoed and also works with young people with a non-church background. He preaches with a direct, relevant message, not compromising the truth of the Christian faith and keeping it real.

He works alongside those who unemployed long-term and those with broken backgrounds to help them restructure their lives.

Clive is best known for walking long distances with a 12ft x 6ft 50-pound cross.

You can contact Clive by emailing [email protected]

What would it mean to have an Evangelism Champion in your local church? To have someone whose role it is to ensure the church is evangelising and meeting those in your local community.

At Counties, we have a vision to equip local churches in raising and recognising their own Evangelism Champions. By working with those who are completing the Connect Evangelist Training Programme (CETP), we will help you identify these individuals.

We are called to share the Gospel and what better way to do that than in striking up conversations and share how important Christ is in our lives.

Each year, a group of Counties evangelists, along with other volunteers, run a tent at the Royal Welsh Show where people can come in, sit down and enjoy a hot drink, while taking a break from walking around the showground. Evangelist Phil Davies is part of this team and has multiple opportunities to meet people where they are and share how Jesus loves them.

This can seem daunting, but the Connect Evangelist Training Programme is designed to equip you with the tools and confidence you need to go out and strike up conversations with people you cross paths with.

Counties are pleased to welcome Graham and Caroline Jack on board as church planters.
Graham & Caroline planted Bridge Community Church - Westley Site, back in April 2015. Both continue to be part of the leadership team, and Graham is the Site Pastor. They also run an outreach project to their neighbours and local school parents, centred on a weekly open-table meal. Their desire in the gatherings at both home and church is to make sold-out followers of Jesus, who make other sold-out followers of Jesus.

Throughout the Bible, there are examples of people working in teams:
👥 Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
👥 Nehemiah organised family groups to rebuild the wall
👥 The disciples were sent in pairs
👥 Paul worked with Barnabas, Silas, Timothy and others.

We're called to work in teams and support each other in our work for God.
