Introduce a national Pet Licence scheme for cat and dog ownership, linked to microchipping and responsible care. Amend the Road Traffic Act 1988 to make road traffic collisions involving cats legally reportable, like collisions involving dogs and livestock.

Today Clive and I are attending the first Older Q***r Voices Festival at Tesco’s Shire Park campus.

This important event brings together LGBTQ+ people, community organisations, employers and advocates to celebrate, recognise and amplify the voices of older LGBTQ+ people.

I’m attending in my capacity as Chair of Herts Pride and CEO of Hertfordshire LGBT*Q Health and Wellbeing CIC, while Clive is attending both as Secretary of Herts Pride and in his role with Ask for Clive, helping to champion safer and more inclusive spaces for LGBTQ+ people.

We’re looking forward to listening, learning, sharing experiences and making new connections that can help strengthen support for older LGBTQ+ people across our communities.

A huge thank you to Tesco, Booker, N2O Globe Group, Best Food Logistics and everyone involved in organising this fantastic inaugural event.

We were delighted to take part in the Pride Progress Flag Raising at Hertsmere Borough Council alongside Impactful Lives, with Clive Duffey and Tyson Martin representing Herts Pride.

We also attended the Pride Progress Flag Raising Ceremony at Watford Borough Council, where Ben Wallington represented Herts Pride alongside Proud Watford and Proud Hornets.

These events are an important opportunity to celebrate our LGBTQ+ communities, raise visibility, and reaffirm our commitment to equality, inclusion, and pride across Hertfordshire.

Thank you to Hertsmere Borough Council, Watford Borough Council, and our community partners for their continued support of LGBTQ+ people across the county.

Early Bird tickets for Herts Pride 2026 are now available.

Join us on Saturday 22nd August 2026 at Cassiobury Park, Watford for a day of live entertainment, community groups, exhibitors, food and drink, family activities, a fun fair, dog show, outdoor market, wellbeing marquee, emergency services and sports zones and LGBTQ+ celebration.

Featuring live entertainment throughout the day, with artist announcements to follow.

We are so excited to share what we've been building for you this June. Proud Watford and our brilliant partners have put together a full month of events, experiences, and moments designed to celebrate every single one of us — joyfully, loudly, and together.

🎨 A Place Without Prejudice: Artworks 2026 — Original artworks inspired by our strapline are displayed throughout Charter Place at the Harlequin Watford, each set against one of the 13 colours of the Progress Flag. A beautiful, visible celebration right in the heart of our town — all month long.

📻 Pride on Vibe — Throughout June, Proud Watford is on the airwaves with Watford's own Vibe 107.6 FM, bringing LGBTQ+ voices, stories, and conversations to listeners across Hertfordshire. Tune in at 107.6 FM or online at vibe1076.co.uk.

🎭 Sing in Good Company — A musical theatre singalong at St Mary's Church with the award-winning In Good Company, with profits supporting Proud Watford and Mission EmployAble. Tickets are just £10.
