🌍POSTCARDS FROM AROUND THE WORLD 🌍

We’re excited to be taking part in Quantum Care’s ‘Postcards From Around the World’ campaign this September! Inspired by today’s World Letter Writing Day, we’re inviting people from all around the world to pick up a pen and send a handwritten postcard to our care home.

Our challenge? To receive postcards from as many different countries as possible! As the postcards arrive, our residents will add a sticker to the world map displayed in our home, ticking off each country we receive a postcard from 💌

And there’s a little friendly competition too! We’ll be competing against other Quantum Care homes, with the winning home being the one that receives postcards from the highest number of different countries.

If you, your family or friends live anywhere around the world, or you’re going on holiday in the near future, we’d love you to send a handwritten postcard to our residents. Please share this post and help us spread the word! Let’s see how many countries we can reach together.

🍕💙 Staff Appreciation Day 💙🍕

On Tuesday, our Regional Support Manager, Claire, treated the team to a wonderful Staff Appreciation Day to say thank you for all of their hard work and dedication.

The team came together in the diner to enjoy delicious pizza, refreshing drinks, and plenty of sweet treats. 🍕🥤🍬 It was a lovely opportunity to take a break, catch up with colleagues, and celebrate the fantastic work everyone does each day to support our residents.

A huge thank you to Claire for organising such a thoughtful afternoon, and to every member of our amazing team for your continued kindness, commitment, and care. We truly appreciate everything you do! 💙👏

☕🎨 Coffee, Chat & Creativity 🎨☕

On Tuesday, we enjoyed a lovely coffee morning, where everyone had the chance to relax, catch up with friends and family, and enjoy plenty of conversation over a hot drink. ☕💛

Alongside the chats, we also spent some time getting creative with mindful art 🖍️, a calming activity that encourages relaxation, focus, and self-expression. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying a peaceful and friendly atmosphere together.

Sometimes it’s the simple moments that bring the biggest smiles. 💕

🍉 Happy National Watermelon Day! 🍉

Yesterday we celebrated National Watermelon Day by taking our watermelon trolley around the home, giving everyone the chance to enjoy a refreshing treat! 🥰

Our residents were offered a selection of watermelon-themed goodies, including:
🍉 Fresh watermelon
🧃 Watermelon juice
💧 Watermelon water
🍬 Watermelon sweets

It was wonderful to see everyone joining in, trying something different, and enjoying a refreshing summer treat together. 🍉❤️

💐 Happy Retirement, Ros! 💐

Yesterday we gathered together to celebrate our wonderful Chef Assistant, Ros, as she begins her well-earned retirement. ☕🧁💖

Ros has been a valued member of the Courtland Lodge family for 9 years, and we are so grateful for all of her hard work, kindness, and dedication over the years. She will be greatly missed by both residents and colleagues alike.

We wish Ros nothing but happiness, good health, and many wonderful adventures in this exciting new chapter. Thank you for everything, Ros, enjoy every moment of your retirement! 🥂✨

🌼 A lovely couple of days at Courtland Lodge! 🌼

Yesterday, our residents enjoyed a relaxing Knit & Natter session, spending time chatting, knitting, and enjoying each other’s company. 🧶 🗣️

Today, the excitement continued with a few rounds of Bingo, bringing plenty of smiles, laughter, and a little friendly competition! 🤗
Well done to all our winners! 🏅

It’s always wonderful to see everyone having fun, socialising, and making happy memories together. 💙

🕷️ 🐍 A fab visit from Zoo Lab today! 🐌 🐸

Our residents enjoyed an exciting and educational experience meeting a wonderful selection of animals, including a 🕷️ tarantula, 🐍 corn snake, 🐌 African snail, 🐸 tree frog, 🪵 stick insect and some adorable 🐹 gerbils!

Everyone had the opportunity to learn lots of interesting facts about each animal, and some of our residents were even brave enough to hold and stroke a few of our special visitors! 🥰

For some, it was a brand-new experience of stroking a tarantula, definitely a moment to remember! 🕷️😱😂

A huge thank you to Zoo Lab for bringing us such a fun, memorable and educational experience!
