🌿 Important Notice 🌿

As we head into Summer, we’d like to remind visitors that swimming is NOT permitted at any of our sites and to take precautions to prevent fires, helping us protect both people and the natural environment.

During dry conditions, our green spaces and wildlife are more vulnerable, so we kindly ask everyone to take extra care when visiting:
❌ Please don’t enter the water
❌ Do not use BBQs
❌ Do not light bonfires or campfires
🔥 Report any signs of fire by calling 999

These actions help safeguard local habitats, protect wildlife, and keep our spaces safe for everyone to enjoy. The wellbeing of our visitors and the natural environment is always our priority, so please plan ahead and take care during hot weather.

For weather updates, visit the Met Office website.

Have you heard of Plantlife: saving wild plants No Mow May campaign?

This May, why not give your lawn (and local wildlife) a little break? By letting the grass grow, you’ll be giving bees, butterflies and other pollinators the flowers they desperately need.

Whether you’ve got a big garden, a tiny patch of grass or even just a verge nearby – every unmown bit helps.

Fire safety in our greenspaces.

Now that the weather is warming up and the ground gets drier, it's vital that we do all we can to prevent and report fires to protect people and nature.

Fires aren’t allowed in our greenspaces, even where the ground looks already burnt. Small flames can spread very quickly, especially in dry weather, and can put wildlife, grazing animals, nearby properties, and local livelihoods at risk.

If you spot an active fire, please report it straight away by calling 999 and let the Land Trust know too. Early action really does help protect these special places.

Huge thanks to our brilliant volunteers and members of the public who keep an eye out and report concerns, your care and vigilance make a real difference. Together, we can help nature (and each other) stay safe 💚
