Warmest congratulations to Stockton Heath Repair Cafe on their successful launch yesterday. It's fantastic to see more and more repair cafes opening in local communities and challenging the idea that, when something breaks, your only option is to throw it away and buy a new one. Not only that, repair cafes help people save money, share practical skills, build confidence and bring communities together in a really positive way.
We wish the Stockton Heath team every success for the future and look forward to seeing the repair movement continue to grow across the region!

VISITING BIRCHWOOD REPAIR CAFE FOR THE FIRST TIME ON SATURDAY?
Take a few tips from Paul, one of our reception team

DOORS OPEN AT 10 AM - We’re usually buzzing behind the scenes setting up beforehand, so if you arrive a little early, thanks for bearing with us while you wait outside.

TAKE A SEAT - When you arrive, you’ll be given a number and asked to take a seat in our reception area. One of our volunteers will check you in as soon as possible.

TAKE IT EASY - Fancy a calmer experience? Try popping in after 10.45 am when the early rush should have died down.

BRINGING IN MORE THAN ONE ITEM? - You’ll need to rejoin the queue for each one and check them in separately. (The only exception is for sharpening – we can take up to 3 small items like scissors or garden tools at once.)

CLEAN ITEMS = HAPPY REPAIRERS😊Please give your items a quick clean before bringing them in. Think empty hoovers, grass-free lawnmowers, and freshly washed clothes. It really helps – thank you!

BE PREPARED TO WAIT - Our Floor Manager will carefully select the right person to carry out your repair, so your turn might take a little longer, especially when we're busy. (Perfect excuse to grab a cuppa and a slice of homemade cake while you wait…)

LAST CHECK IN IS AT 12.30 PM - But if your item might take a while to fix, it’s best to come earlier.

A NEW LEASE OF LIFE FOR YOUR FAVOURITE DIGITAL CLOCK
Most digital clocks aren't particularly valuable in monetary terms. But that doesn't mean to say that they're disposable. When a clock has been part of your home for a while, you can often become surprisingly attached to it. So rather than throw it away when it stops working, why not bring it to Birchwood Repair Cafe? One of our repairers may be able to replace the worn-out mechanism with a brand new quartz one, giving your clock a new lease of life while keeping its original look and character.
