❤️❤️ Please join us in welcoming little Belle to the Cinque Ports Rescue family ❤️❤️

Belle arrived with us via a council stray service that we work closely alongside. She is a small, friendly Terrier who has already won hearts with her sweet and gentle nature.

Sadly, Belle was found unchipped and, at around four years old has been left unclaimed 😢
More concerning is a nasty wound on her side which we have cleaned to make her as comfortable as possible. She will be seen first thing tomorrow morning by one of our trusted partner veterinary practices so that we can establish exactly what treatment she needs.

Despite everything she has been through, Belle has remained affectionate, trusting and full of love. She really is the sweetest little girl.

As well as investigating and treating her wound, Belle will require a full course of vaccinations and neutering before she can begin the next chapter of her life. As a rescue, we rely heavily on the generosity of our supporters to help us provide the veterinary care that dogs like Belle urgently need.

🎉🎉🎉Ready for HIS NEW HOME 🎉🎉🎉

Terry hasn’t had the easiest start. This lovely young terrier cross was originally found as a stray, and just when life seemed to be looking up, he suffered an unfortunate playtime accident which resulted in a break near his hip.
He underwent a femoral head removal operation, which is a very common and successful procedure, and we’re delighted to say there have been no complications. The only lasting effect is that one of Terry’s back legs is slightly shorter than the other, something that certainly doesn’t stop him enjoying life.
The rescue will continue to support Terry and his new family throughout the remainder of his rehabilitation, but we truly feel that finding his forever home is now in his best interests. More than anything, Terry needs his person. 🥰

🐶 About Terry:
* Can live with other dogs – he’s super friendly with everyone.
* Any resident dogs will need to be comfortable with a young, boisterous lad.
* Great with children, although we feel older primary school age and above would be best.
* A typical terrier crossbreed pup who loves being with his people and joining in with daily life.
* Needs a home where someone is around for most of the day, or where he can accompany you.
* Loves spending time in the garden, so a secure garden is a must for this lively boy. 🌳🐾

Today, with heavy hearts, we said goodbye to our precious Jelly. 💔🌈🐾

At 15 years old, little Jelly came into the care of Cinque Ports Rescue last November alongside his beloved brother, Skye. Both boys had their own health battles, Jelly with his heart condition and Skye with ongoing allergies, and because of their age and medical needs, they became part of our Permanent Foster family.

They found the most wonderful home with our incredible fosterer, Jane, and her lovely dog, Posy, where they were surrounded by love, comfort and everything a dog could wish for in their twilight years.

Sadly, Jane found that Jelly had passed away peacefully in his sleep overnight. While our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that he left this world exactly as every dog deserves—safe, warm, loved beyond measure, and with dignity.

Jelly may only have been with us for a short time, but he was treasured every single day. We are so grateful to Jane for opening her heart and home to both boys and giving Jelly the peaceful retirement he deserved.

Our thoughts are now with Skye as he adjusts to life without his lifelong companion.

Stories like Jelly’s are only possible because of our amazing foster homes and the generosity of our supporters. Permanent foster dogs often require ongoing medication, specialist veterinary care and regular check-ups, but they deserve every chance to spend their final months or years surrounded by love instead of in kennels.

Today, Terry had his second hydrotherapy session, and the progress has been amazing! ❤️

He’s already walking much better on his leg (although he is a lazy boy and still needs a little bribery to get moving 🤣).

With the fantastic progress he’s making, we’ve decided that Terry is now ready to start looking for his next chapter—a foster home with a view to adopt.

The rescue will continue to support Terry and his new family throughout the remainder of his rehabilitation, but we truly feel that finding his forever home is now in his best interests. More than anything, Terry needs his person. 🥰

Yesterday afternoon Terry attended his first Hydrotherapy session at the amazing Bowesfield Hydrotherapy with Kirsty.

As you can see he was alittle unsure, but he did amazingly and took it all in his stride, in pure Terry fashion 🥰🐶🐾

We have 3 more sessions booked in as a start.

Please welcome Poppie ❤️🐾🐶

The little lady arrived in our care yesterday and is settling well into her foster home.

She is a JRT and a little lady at just 3kg ☺️

She is absolutely adorable and winning hearts very quickly.

She will be attending our wonderful vets later today, as she’s showing symptoms of a chest infection 😢

We have had a busy time recently with both Bertie and Jules (now Beau) finding therefore forever homes!

They have both settled in beautifully and we could have been more pleased.

We always get inundated with applications for puppies and we can only ever choose one home.

If you not successful first time round, try and try again ☺️, every dog has individual needs and that is what shapes every decision we make!

Terry Update 05/06/2026

It’s now a number of weeks since Terry had his femoral head removal surgery. The good news is that his wound has fully healed. Although he is still not consistently using the leg, this is not unusual, as he became accustomed to not putting weight on it during his initial injury and pain.

His foster mum has been diligently carrying out the physiotherapy exercises recommended by the vet, and now that his wound has healed, he will be starting hydrotherapy next Friday. Unfortunately, Terry has experienced some muscle wastage in the affected leg, but we are hopeful that continued physiotherapy and hydrotherapy will help rebuild his strength and confidence.

There was some wonderful progress to report today. Terry spent the day with his foster mum at her horse yard and was happily running around with the other dogs, using his leg, which was marvellous to see.

His recovery journey is not over yet, but he is doing really well and remains an absolutely cracking little dog.

The family who eventually take Terry on are going to have a smashing little companion.

The cost of his hydrotherapy is going to put a further strain on the rescues currently limited resources and if you would like to pay for a session, we would be incredibly grateful. The rescue is getting a a wonderfully kind discount and each session will be £20.
Our wonderful supporters continue to allow all of our work and make sure we can support and rehabilitate dogs like terry.

Some of you may remember Edith, she came to us last year extremely fearful of the world after knowing nothing but a breeding life.

Her forever family were previous CPR adopters and it was a match made in heaven. They have worked so incredibly hard with Edith and she is unrecognisable from the dog we first met.

They have been considering a friend for her to help further build her confidence and Ewa was just that little lady.

Edith loves her already and to say her family are already in love is an understatement!

Both these girls couldn’t have asked for better and this makes us all here at CPR, so unbelievably proud of the hard work we do, and are able to do because of all our wonderful supporters

After everything she has been through, this is the ending we had all hoped for.

Shelby has officially found her forever home. We could not be happier for this very special little girl.

When Shelby first came into our care at the beginning of the year after being found, she was in a truly heartbreaking state. Since then, Shelby has amazed us every single day with her resilience and spirit. With love, patience and care, she has blossomed into a happy little lady who is almost unrecognisable from the dog who first arrived with us.

We are delighted that Shelby has gone to live with previous Cinque Ports Rescue adopters, and from the moment she arrived we knew she was going to be thoroughly adored and completely spoilt.

This is exactly the future Shelby deserved and we cannot thank her new family enough for opening their hearts and home to her.

Be happy, sweetheart. Your new life starts now ❤️🐾
