SARS Cymru can confirm that our Executive Director & Founder, Ajay (me), has once again being targeted by numerous individuals seeking to disrupt both my personal presence online and the important work being undertaken by our organisation.
As a result of these ongoing actions, my personal Facebook account have been closed down and fully disabled - which was directly linked to pages and organisational information. This is why members of the public are currently unable to locate me on Facebook. While this has undoubtedly caused inconvenience, I am pleased to confirm that SARS Cymru's social media presence remains active.
SARS Cymru was founded on the principles of public accountability, transparency and community service. Those principles remain unchanged. We will continue to provide information, raise awareness and support communities across Wales through our work in weather monitoring, storm response and public engagement.
Attempts to silence, discourage or undermine our efforts will not succeed - these instances have been reported to the police.
We want to make it absolutely clear that we will NOT stop what we are doing. If our platforms are removed, we WILL rebuild them. If our voices are silenced, we WILL find new ways to communicate. We remain committed to our mission and WILL continue to restart, rebuild and move forward for as long as necessary.
The individuals responsible for these actions should understand one simple fact: determination, resilience and commitment to the public interest will always outlast attempts to suppress them.
We would like to thank our supporters, followers and members of the public for their continued encouragement and support during this time. Your confidence in our work motivates us to keep going.
SARS Cymru remains operational, committed to transparency and dedicated to serving the communities we support - please bare with us whilst we deal with these issues at present.
UPDATE @ 19:15: I have gained access back to the page via Facebook directly. Thank you so much to my sister for her help with her Facebook profile.
I want to be clear when I say this, I am and WE are NOT stopping what I/We are doing. The Organisation is successful, we have DEDICATED volunteers. We WILL continue to call our authorities, services we pay for and services we all rely on if it means TRANSPARENCY & ACCOUNTABILITY. Thank you so much for being patient - Ajay.
