Our scouts have had a blast at Scouts Adventure Camp where they joined over 750 scouts from a cross Scotland for a weekend of exciting activities and making new friends. The scouts have done us proud, camping and cooking independently and working together as a close team.

Thank you to Co-op community funding for making this possible, and to everyone on Mull that has supported us as their nominated charity. The tents which were funded by Mull and Iona Community Trust have been invaluable (3rd camp with them).

Massive thanks to all the adults volunteers who gave up their time to make this possible.

The scouts had double dinners this week as each of our patrols planned, prepared, cooked and most importantly ate 2 course meals.
Menu 1 was hot dogs, sweet corn and baked beans followed by homemade apple crumble and custard.
Menu 2 was chicken wraps and salad followed by fruit and dipping chocolate.

I'm pretty sure none of the leaders got to sample as the scouts demolished every last bite.

I was deeply saddened to learn of the recent passing of Keith Findell, former scout leader and group quartermaster for the 24th Glasgow (Bearsden) Scout Group. Keith was hugely influential on me as a young leader, and was a great support to me when I took on the running of "A Troop" from Alec Spalding. I count myself as one amongst many who have benefited from Keith's pragmatism and drive, in providing new experiences and development opportunities for young people. Thank you Keith, I hope that my efforts in scouting contribute to your continued legacy.

To all our friends, a request...

We are delighted be partnering with Co-op for the next 12 months as part of their community fund. We are looking to raise money to support us taking our scouts to mainland activity centres and camps, where they will get the chance to try new activities, build skills and meet other young people from near and far. But we need your help.

We will receive a proportion of a fund based on co-op app users that nominate us as their selected cause.

We are currently limited to a 15 mile area for the app to allow our selection.

Please download the Co-op App, become a member and choose our cause, so we can receive a share of £5m. https://coopapp.onelink.me/ftOk/izrifiz6

If you already have the app, then please search for us as 15th Argyll (1st Muileach) Scout Group and select us to be your nominated cause.

Thank you, we really appreciate your support.

Our scouts will shortly set off from the marina on their fundraising challenge with Sean and Laura.....

They will be paddling a bell boat around Tobermory bay in a scavenger hunt, collecting plastic ducks, each revealing a letter, to find the hidden message.

With the inclement weather our scouts will be working extra hard. So please, if you are able, consider donating to the cause through our justgiving page - https://www.justgiving.com/page/mull-scouts-stv?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL

With your help we can make a positive difference to the lives of children affected by poverty in Scotland.

Our scouts had a cracking evening with our local policeman. As well as hearing about the diverse roles of an island based officer, they had the chance to learn and use the NATO phonetic alphabet, get hands on with some police equipment and see the inner workings of Tobermory Police Station. Thank you very much to Neil for hosting us!
