Tarporley War Memorial Hospital Trust

Tarporley War Memorial Hospital Trust TWMH Trust aims to improve and enhance health and social care services for the local community.

Tarporley War Memorial Hospital Trust has partnered with the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, which is developing a rural hub at the premises in Tarporley for the provision of health and social care services in the community. A range of outpatient services are also being provided from the premises. TWMH Trust aims to enhance and improve the patient experience, supporting both the

physical and mental health needs of the local community. As a Trust, we continue to listen and engage with our stakeholders to understand what you believe are the priorities for health and social care provision locally.

Wishing a very Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers, grandfathers, carers, and father figures out there. Today we celebrate the support, guidance, and care you bring to your families and communities every day.

We’re also thinking of those who may be missing a father or loved one today, and anyone who finds this day challenging. 💚

A huge thank you to our valued regular supporters, 41 Club Tarporley, for their generous £3,000 donation towards our Health and Wellbeing Grants programme this year.

Their continued support makes a real difference, helping to fund vital local initiatives including local CRY - Cardiac Risk in the Young Screenings, Station House Cafe, Whitegate, and the EOLP.

Meet the projects helping to shape health and wellbeing in Tarporley and the surrounding areas.

We’re delighted to announce this year’s grantees - a group of organisations and community-led projects working to improve wellbeing, strengthen connections, and support people across our local communities.

From grassroots initiatives to growing local programmes, each project shares a commitment to creating positive, lasting impact.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be introducing each of this year’s grantees and taking a closer look at the work our funding, and your support, helps make possible. 💚

Connecting with local organisations, partners, and community groups is a vital part of what we do, helping us strengthen existing relationships, build new ones, and work together to make a positive impact across our communities. 💚

💡 Did you know?

There are an estimated 8,000–10,000 young carers across Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East. Many children and young people take on significant caring responsibilities at home, often helping to look after a parent, sibling, or other family member.

Being a young carer can make it much harder to keep up with school, spend time with friends, or take part in hobbies and activities.

The good news is that support is available 👇

This , we caught up with Rachel, Activities Co-ordinator at The Poppy Club - Eternity Care Services 👏

The Poppy Club is a welcoming social group held every Thursday and Friday in the community room at Tarporley War Memorial Hospital. Members enjoy getting together, trying new activities, and taking part in events in a friendly, supportive environment. 💚

Just as importantly, it provides vital respite for family carers, giving them the chance to take a break and focus on themselves while knowing their loved ones are in good company.

Find out more about The Poppy Club and how to book a space by heading over to their page!

Did you know this week is ? 💡

This week is all about recognising and celebrating both carers right across the UK - the incredible support they give to family and friends every day, often without realising they are carers themselves. It’s also about helping more people identify their role and access the support available to them.

To mark the week, our Community Engagement Lead, Gil, shares his lived experience of being a carer. Tap the link to read the blog 🔗
