The longer walk in May started at Banks Road car park on the Wirral where the group walked part of the recently signposted King Charles III England Coast Path and the cliff top to the Wirral Country Park at Thurstaston. Returning on the Wirral Way with a slow climb into “The Dungeon” before making our way through Heswall Dales and back to our starting point where we enjoyed a most satisfactory light lunch at the Yøt Café

The speaker at the West Cheshire Rural U3a monthly meeting on June 18th is Dr David Mottram with a talk titled “The Olympic Games – A View from the Athlete’s Village”. This is a personal reflection on providing medical services at the Rio Olympic Games. The extensive planning and organization involved with delivering them is explained and a brief tour is given of some key tourist attractions in Rio.

NB The AGM will precede the talk.

The next games afternoon will be on the 26th May in the Barbour Institute at 2pm. We plan to have Canasta, Rummikub, and Scrabble available plus any other games members bring. There will be a small charge of £4 to cover the room hire.
