Red Gables A unique wellbeing centre in Stowmarket that has the community at heart. Red Gables is a Wellbeing Hub for the whole community.

As well as providing meeting and activity space for organisations, clubs and businesses, we actively promote services that help deliver better health and wellbeing for everyone. The main Red Gables building has been modernised to provide offices of varying sizes over three floors that are mostly leased to voluntary and community organisations that support local people in Mid Suffolk and the surrou

nding area. The Old Library was originally built in 1939 to provide library services to the local community. In 2012 it was extensively refurbished and was named as ‘Redwoods’. It is now a fully accessible facility that provides a large activity and meeting space with a modern catering kitchen, plus an attractive garden room for smaller meetings that overlooks our well maintained 1.5 acre gardens. The 1.5 acres of mature gardens sets a wonderful canvas for our facilities and contains beautiful Redwood trees, shrubs and lawns which provide a home for a variety of wildlife and will enhance your enjoyment when visiting Red Gables. It has also enabled us to develop a garden project that is supported and enjoyed by local people.

🌹💃🏼☎️ Will you be attending the Over 50s Dance Party at the Rookery Bowls Club in Stowmarket from 2pm-4pm?

🌸🎻🩷 Or the singalong at the Rampant Horse in Needham Market from 3pm-4pm?

Thankyou to Jannine from East Anglian Traditional Music Trust for visiting our Redwoods Lunch Club today to discuss the Traditional Music Day on Saturday 19th September.

Traditional Music Day is a celebration of East Anglia's music, dances and songs and is a free, family-friendly event with lots going on throughout the day across town.

enjoy concerts, workshops, music sessions, stepdancing, talks, storytelling, exhibitions and more!

Our members had a jolly sing-song with Jannine whilst she demonstrated the use of jigdolls too.

We look forward to your return next week for your visit to our second group and we can't wait for this event!🎻

Do you remember Stowmarket's Old Library? In 1939, Octavious Seaman built a library for the town, in the grounds of Red Gables, to commemorate his daughter, Phyllis’s 21st birthday. In 2012, it was refurbished and named ‘Redwoods’.

Today it is a fully accessible facility that provides a large activity and meeting space with a modern kitchen. Adjoined is a delightful garden room for smaller meetings that overlooks our gardens.

🗑️ STOWMARKET LITTER PICK UPDATE 🗑️

Another busy session in the books! We had a fantastic turnout of 16 dedicated volunteers out in force today, taking on the town centre, Temple Road, Gipping Way, and surrounding car parks once again.

🌟 A Special Shout-Out!
A massive thank you to Aaron, Glenn, and Terry from Stowmarket Funeral Directors (part of East of England Co-op Funeral Services) for coming along! They’ll be joining us regularly over the next few months. Local businesses are often genuinely shocked by the sheer volume of waste we gather, so we really appreciate them taking the time to roll up their sleeves, lend a hand, and help raise awareness. 👏

⚡ The B&M Hedgerow Strikes Again...
Despite clearing the infamous B&M hedgerow just last month, we returned today to find an astonishing 31 cans of Red Bull discarded in that single spot alone - almost one for every single day of the month! It just goes to show why our regular picks are so vital.
