🛠 REPAIR CAFÉ and Recycling Stall is on this Sunday 14th June from 2pm - 4pm

Stowmarket Repair Café is back at Red Gables this weekend and have volunteers ready to help you with:
🧵 Clothing repairs - holes, zips, buttons, hems etc; knitting and crochet projects
🔫 General gluing
🪑 Wooden items, furniture, mechanical clocks
🔌 Small electrical repairs
🚲 Bicycle repairs from Session Cycles (booking essential, please email) * from 12pm - 4pm

We look forward to helping you reduce your waste, save money and even learn new skills....all while you enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of cake provided by Osier cafe
Don't bin it - Repair it!

Also, on the hard-to-recycle stall supported by Stowmarket Eco Future Group we can take:
☕️ Coffee pods from Nespresso, Nescafé Dolce Gusto and Tassimo.
🐈 Dry & wet pet food pouches…."empty, clean and dry"
🧃 Tetra Pack / cartons - "cleaned and flattened"
💊 Medicine blister packs - "small bag per person"
🔋 Batteries - "can also be taken to supermarkets"
💻 Laptops / tablets (to donate to the community)

To conclude , we want to take a moment to thank every single volunteer across our 11 groups and projects, our brilliant Events Team, and of course, our board of Trustees. You all generously dedicate your time and energy behind the scenes to make Red Gables what it is today!

We would also like to take this opportunity to officially welcome Terence and Helen as our newest trustees—we are thrilled to have your expertise on board.

Red Gables (MSVOF) has now been operating in Stowmarket for over 30 years. Ever since the legendary John Peel officially opened our building in 1997, we have been incredibly proud to support thousands of volunteering opportunities across the sector and watch our community thrive.

Our volunteering community is stronger than ever and we are always looking for more people to get involved! To give you an idea of the incredible team effort happening every week, we currently have:
42 dedicated individuals supporting VOS (Volunteers of Stowmarket).
31 handy fixers keeping things moving at the Repair Café.
9 wonderful volunteers keeping our Lunch Club running smoothly.
4 welcoming faces hosting our Warm Welcome sessions.

Want to join us? Here are our current volunteering opportunities:

♻️ Volunteers of Stowmarket (VOS): Join our eco-heroes for our monthly litter pick to clean up the streets of Stowmarket. We also run regular eco-projects throughout the month on Tuesdays, including tree planting, gardening, and recycling.

🌳 Red Gables Garden Project: Build teamwork and horticultural skills while maintaining the beautiful gardens at Red Gables. Join us on Thursdays from 11:00 am.

📅 Red Gables Events Team: Get stuck into a range of essential roles at our community events, including café support, signposting, event setup, and more. Our key event dates this year are Sunday 5th July and Sunday 29th November 2026.
