This time last week we were on stage at Macrobert Arts Centre for what is definitely one of the most special nights in both my own, and Rubber Chicken Theatre's story.

RCT 20 Years 100 Stages saw almost 100 performers from our current tinies, through our kids and teens, the teens that aren't teens, the choir, the teens that DEFINITELY aren't teens, and the adults that have been pouring their love into our theatrical family for a very long time all take to the stage together. It was special.

It's been really difficult to process how it felt. It's been almost half my life coming together in one place, and on stage in a theatre, which is always my happy place. I think I'm a little out of words, so I just want to say a huge and personal thank you to each and every one of you.

I love you all.

Going to be sad turning The Cowane back to normal (ish) might keep a bat or two. No one tell Leigh . . .

As I slowly work through last week, the first of our two shows at Macrobert Arts Centre was of course our teen contingent with their performances of Newsies Jr. To say I'm proud of these guys would be an understatement.

Harmonies, dancing, accents, energy and emotion and they gave it their absolute all. There's lots of cliches to be had in newsies, about how they seized the day, or carried the banner for young performers, but these young performers made even a cynical old theatrical hand like me emotional with their energy and commitment.

Very, very proud of them all.

🎭Take Part : How to Train Your Dragon Jr🎭

Registration for our spring show, ‘How to Train Your Dragon Jr.’ opens online this Sunday, 1st Nov at 9.00am.

Hiccup is a young Viking who defies tradition and befriends one of his deadliest foes, a ferocious dragon he calls Toothless. Together, the unlikely heroes fight against the odds to save both their worlds in this wonderful theatrical adaptation of the DreamWorks Animation hit.

It’s our Halloween parties on Sat - are you coming?

The MT class today were exploring the costume store and were very much divided on what my costume for Saturday should be. . And very invested in a poll to decide. Their choices were:

- A ghost bride
- Hades
- Cruella De Ville
- The White Rabbit
- Elsa

My age apparently less of an issue when you’re p4-7.

It’s hallowe’en week at The Cowane!

I know lots of you are patiently waiting on photos and posts about Newsies, RCT 20 to be honest, there’s so many emotions (and photos) to process that I’ve not quite got there, so pausing that briefly to shout about hallowe’en!

We’ve got halloweeen specials on the cafe menu (including our monster mash milkshake), 2 performances of ‘10 ways to survive the zombie apocalypse’ on Friday, and Halloween parties RCT style (but open to all!) for preschool and primary on Saturday.

I cannot wait. I love hallowe’en!

An incredible opening night tonight for our show in a week teen contingent - it's such an incredibly feel good show and they are hitting it with everything they've got and more. Soooo proud!
