Seven members of Rosenethe Singers managed a trip away recently, travelling to the north east of England to take part in Evensong at Durham Cathedral (an impressive service, accompanied by the double organ).

Some enjoyed a morning at Beamish, particularly enjoying the old-fashioned medicines and electrical devices!

A fascinating guided tour ensued at the workshop of Harrison & Harrison Ltd, makers and restorers of pipe organs since 1861. Known for organs as large as King's College, Cambridge, and Westminster Abbey, and as fine and small as those in churches and private houses, the craftsmen were most informative and gave a thorough insight into the history and processes involved in their craft. Much enjoyed by all.

Thanks to Julian for organising the trip. He has plans afoot for a visit next year to one of the last working bell foundries in the UK to see a bell being cast!

A terrible turn of events at the weekend for one of our own altos, Helen, and Malcolm.
Sharing from Dunblane Cathedral Music page.

As you know, Helen and Malcolm Wilson have lost everything in the awful fire on Sunday night. As members of Dunblane Cathedral handbells and the Cathedral Choir, we really would appreciate you helping them get their lives back. Somethings are gone which are irreplaceable, but with nothing left, please consider donating on this page - https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/aimee-channon?utm_medium=FA&utm_source=CL&fbclid=IwY2xjawSBenxleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFXS1ZzblBva0JETDNEb3h3c3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHlNF0zbEmrrjYRLVWaEhY6mNQc_okGPBLXEGaoAyDvb1kdiO9i5kXc-xVnqd_aem_IOgK2xLoYz_NCh9N7AJq9Q
