Phoenix Unicorns and Mermaids events

Hannah Evans ran a course and season’s best of 1:09:26 in the 10K, while Anne Garcia claimed a PB and course best of 2:12:22 in the half-marathon after deciding to tackle the distance on the day. Both commented that it was a lovely route with varied terrain.

Well done both, lovely medals! 🏅✨

A new host, a new course, two new clubs, a high turnout, and a welcome dip in temperature , all made for a highly enjoyable evening yesterday. Thanks to Broxbourne RC and to all volunteers for a superb event.

Marlow 5 Mile

Jade Sibbons CB 49.39 First 5 mile race at Marlow! And such a lovely atmosphere with the locals coming out to cheer us on and the kids giving out high fives!

Deborah Vandepeer PB 50.33 Great race and good company, lots of Striders encouragement as always. PB for me, knocking nearly 5 and a half minutes off my last 5 mile race.

Gemma Mullins PB 53.17 A lovely flat course so I was able to keep a good pace going, and still have enough left at the end. Great to hear everyone cheering you on at the end to help you make it to the finish line.

Sarah Goodyear PB 57.03 Have a love/hate relationship with Marlow, despite some sort blisters the cool temperature worked in my favour and I managed to score not only a course PB but also an overall 5 mile PB! Was great to catch up with Maxine towards the end for a much needed boost.

Maxine Shackell PB 57:18:00 1st time at The Marlow 5. Chilly start but soon warmed up. Great atmosphere with all the Striders.
5 Mile PB straight off the back of an Ultra and a Marathon. Legs worked hard today.

Carmien Gharbaoui PB 58.20 4 min PB from last year and happy with this result after MK marathon 6 days ago.
Now time to recover ! 😁

Paula Heyes SB 1.00.25 Pleased to finish on tired legs. Nice medal and great Strider turn out for this charity race.
