💛 Thank you to our amazing volunteers! 💛

Last month, Staple Hill Community Hub held its annual event to say a very big thank you to the people who keep us running. There were games, food and lots of laughter. It was a rare chance for volunteers from different days and different parts of the Hub to meet each other.

Here’s what our volunteers achieved over the past year:

⭐ 42 volunteers
⭐ 1,837 hours given
⭐ 308 sessions
⭐ Worth £24,708 at the Real Living Wage

They cook and serve Lunch Club meals, support people at the Job Searchers Support Group, help Singing for the Brain run smoothly, and make sure emergency food parcels reach families in need. Without them, we simply couldn’t do what we do.

🏆 The highlight of the evening was a special award for kindness and dedication, presented to Sandra Holt. Her years of commitment inspire volunteers old and new, and everyone was delighted to see her recognised. Congratulations, Sandra!

🙋 Could you join our team? We’re looking for new volunteers to help with the Job Searchers Support Group and a handy person to do little jobs around the place.

The lead up to Christmas can be a time of real financial pressure. 🎄

If you’ve borrowed from an illegal lender, please remember: you’re not in trouble, the loan shark is. They’re the ones committing a crime.

Warning signs include no paperwork, keeping your passport or bank card, adding charges so the debt never goes down, and threats or intimidation.

Free, confidential help is available:
