At our June meeting we really enjoyed a presentation by Jonathon from DCC Road Safety Team who talked about what we can do to drive safer and encourage others to do the same. Our competition was a decorated matchbox, there were some great ideas. It was lovely to see 2 of the ladies who attended our open day.

We had a brilliant night at our open evening and hope our visitors did too. We had tea & cake, bra pong, a cake quiz, played people bingo, had a raffle and a presentation about life in the WI. We finished by pictures in the 'bigger buns' frame. All of our visitors took a goodie bag home with information and a couple of treats in. Thank you to the ladies from our WI who baked, donated raffle prizes and helped on the night. 🙂

Our ladies are looking forward to receiving their copy of our re-branded magazine. Its free as part of our WI membership.

It is finally here - our newly rebranded WI Magazine: and a new way to provide you deep-dives and longer interviews on all things NFWI.

Fittingly for a summer issue, we present 10 pages on beach life, and spotlight some wonderful coastal WIs. We've also got a new section where your questions are answered by a WI panel in 'WIsdom'; a piece on slow crafting; and all your favourites from recipes to campaign updates.

We really hope you enjoy your new magazine, and that you find it a great read for the summer!

We had a great evening at our group meeting hosted by Durhamgate & Tudhoe WI. We were entertained by Elvis and had Pizza and popcorn. Our competition entry didn't win but we thought it was great. We didn't get a chance to give our vote of thanks to 'Elvis', it was too good not to share so its shared in the pics.

Spennymoor West made a Wall of Hope, celebrating the good things that happen in our community as part of A Million Acts of Hope. There are so many people including our ladies doing things that make other peoples lives better every day.

We were out and about yesterday litterpicking in the Cow Plantation. We had all weathers, got wet a couple of times but it was nice to get some fresh air, exercise and catch up with friends, all while doing something for our community. Tea and Cake and a chance to warm up and dry off afterwards at our presidents house.
