✨ Happy Monday at IVY Aycliffe! ✨

We started with some foil and sticker art and the children were so engaged — lots of focus, creativity and proud smiles as they explored colours and textures! 🎨✨

No sunshine today but we didn't let that stop us, we still got out for a run around in the garden for lots of fresh air and big energy!

What a lovely start to our week!

We were so excited to welcome the High Sheriff a few weeks ago.

The children were all happy to share their reasons for coming, and even more excited to share about our residential planned for early next year.

And this morning, Youth Cafe went on a trip. We went to Ushaw Historic House, Chapels & Gardens .

We played outside on the gorgeous courtyard, had some hot chocolate, then went inside for snacks and crafts.

We didn’t get a lot of time to look around the exhibitions, but we enjoyed the light up dragon and dinosaur costumes.

Our Bearpark Youth Club launched last night at Field & Fodder.

We listened to music, made cookie monsters, got to know each other and planned for the future.

It's a small group (for now), but they had some really good ideas of what their youth club will become and what they can achieve and we're really excited to see how it grows!

Our Bearpark Youth Club launched last night at Field & Fodder.

We listened to music, made cookie monsters, got to know each other and planned for the future.

It's a small group (for now), but they had some really good ideas of what their youth club will become and what they can achieve and we're really excited to see how it grows!

We have a busy few days coming up! And with the unmistakable appearance of autumn, meals be providing hot meals wherever possible.

Tonight we have IVY Spenny Indie - where we're going to make a favourite 'Cheeseburger pasta' and working on one of our AQA Unit Awards 'Basic safety and hygiene in the kitchen' that were doing using our own AQA Unit Award Scheme

We also have The Hive at Aycliffe, who will be having burgers for tea after a highly competitive game or two of dodgeball!

And tomorrow, we have Youth Cafe at Bearpark, who are having a trip to Ushaw Historic House, Chapels & Gardens

Followed by Lunch Club, who may be doing a bit of pumpkin carving! 🎃

We're so excited to have paid the deposit for our very first residential! Eek!

Wanting to do a residential trip was unanimously what The Hive wanted to do when we won The High Sheriff Youth Award back in February, hosted by Point North.

We were also fortunate enough to get a grant from YHA England and Wales that helped subsidise the cost.

This is going to give members of The Hive such an incredible experience. We loved our train trip to Saltburn in summer, and whilst we realise Whitby in February isn't going to be quite the same, we are just too excited to not be bothered!

This is the first, but it definitely won't the last. We're already looking at some overnight options for our IVY Spenny Indie group!

*any group residential will only ever be for regular attendees, who staff know very well. So if you're interested, find a group to join!
