Some holidays are about the destination. This one was all about the people, but the gorgeous scenery didn't hurt!

Southwell Out and About had a brilliant day at Sherwood Forest! The group enjoyed exploring the forest, taking in the beautiful scenery and discovering exciting attractions celebrating Robin Hood and his Merry Men. The group's day was topped off with a lovely picnic in front of the famous Major Oak, giving everyone the chance to relax and enjoy the wonderful surroundings together.

Huge congratulations to our colleague Kay, who was shortlisted for the Champion of Working Together for Better Lives award at yesterday's Proud to Care Awards.

To be shortlisted from hundreds of nominations is a fantastic achievement and reflects the impact of Kay's work, including with Reach's Voice & Participation Group, empowering adults with learning disabilities to have their voice and views heard.

We're all incredibly proud of this well-deserved recognition.

Well done to all those nominated and awarded, and thank you to the organisers and sponsors of this wonderful celebration of the social care sector. It was also a privilege to hear songs from charity partner Vicky McClure's Our Dementia Choir, complete with a guest appearance from Vicky herself!

📢 Join the Reach Southwell team! We're looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and hardworking Project Co-ordinator/Classroom Assistant to help support adults with learning disabilities at our Reach Southwell centre.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll support activities, work alongside tutors, provide one-to-one and group support, and help people achieve their goals, build confidence and enjoy fulfilling days.

Our Mansfield Out and About Group visited the Nottinghamshire Mining Museum where they learned about the history of mining in Nottinghamshire. Some donned a hard hat and crawled through a mine tunnel, some of the clients remembered friends and relatives who had worked down the mines.

The volunteers at the Mining Museum were very knowledgeable and super kind to us all especially Eric. A big thank you for letting us visit your wonderful museum!
